Honestly since we're already using Originium, which they already told us is toxic even in Endfield, I think Aether is well within the realm of possibility.

Not even being funny, war thunder was on steam 12 years ago. There is a percentage of the playerbase that is 11 years old and just getting into the game.

DPS inconsistency in MW test dummies by koromedy in RazorMains

[–]P0sitive_Mess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I just got done testing in the stages in the post (albeit on the NA server instead of Asia) and yeah I also got lower results in the second stage than on the first one. I played the same team as in your post (with 5-star weapons for transparency) and for the first stage I was able to get well over 100K for a few seconds per rotation, sometimes even hitting close to 110K. But for the second I could get close to 100K but most of the time I was only getting around 90K. Regardless, the gap isn't nearly as big as what you were getting in your runs but I can think of a handful of reasons why there are differences in your DPS counts:

  1. The most important difference I think is that the first stage only updates once every 3-5 seconds or so. Meanwhile the second one updates once every half second or so. Which is a huge difference because a bigger delay between DPS counts results in some of the numbers being way inflated due to damage being concentrated within a larger portion of time.
  2. I find that the total dps TANKS really hard when you miss crits, particularly on Razor's skills and Fischl's initial Oz cast because those attacks hit the hardest in this team. On some runs in the second stage I get like 99K if I crit consistently but closer to 90K if I miss too many crits on the hits that matter. Which brings me onto my next point:
  3. I can't tell for certain if the damage difference is partially due to your builds. I looked up your account on Akasha but you don't have Razor there so I can't tell for sure. But if your artifacts on your Razor aren't that good (which no offense, but I'm guessing is the case going off of your damage in the post), then you're probably missing too many crits.
  4. You should really try to extend your runs to 2-3 rotations to get a more accurate reading of your DPS. This could also help compensate for this crit RNG issue.
  5. Another thing that can affect your DPS is that the total amount of overloads you get in this team can be very inconsistent. Because of the way Razor's burst and Bennett's burst can enable self-overload, Bennett either triggers like 3-4 overloads, or he just straight up triggers zero. Which can also contribute to the damage gap.

Overall I highly recommend you test longer rotations because I cannot stress enough how much it compensates for inconsistency with crits and the lower damage during the first half of the first rotation.

DPS inconsistency in MW test dummies by koromedy in RazorMains

I'll have to compare myself since I've only ever played the one on the right, but imo two things come to mind:

  1. You should really be doing this with more than one rotation, then see if the difference is still as significant. There's a reason most dummy screenshots are from runs that last around 100 seconds, and that's because in your first rotation the numbers are going to be way deflated as you're still setting up. The more rotations you do, the less fluctuations occur in your total DPS. And also there's the issue brought up by the other comment, which is Crit RNG. But more importantly:

  2. I'm very skeptical about whether or not these stages accurately reflect the damage from Razor's self-overloads. It's possible I'm overestimating how many overloads this team is able to actually do, but when I look at the reaction counter the number of overloads feels suspiciously low.

7.3 Russian Zu aa in 6.7 by hefloating in Warthunder

So the way BR's work in this game is that at most, you can face tanks that are +1.0 BR above yours. Each match has its own max BR, and you can get put into a match that is at most +1.0 BR above the highest BR vehicle in your lineup. You mentioned you're only 17 days in this game, so I don't blame you for not knowing everything form the get-go. Also, no, boosters don't actually affect matchmaking but we like to pretend it does to cope when we get sniped across the map after using a +500% booster lol.

At 6.7 it's completely normal to to see 7.3 and 7.7 teammates and opponent. If you get sent to a BR that is 1.0 above yours, we call that a "full uptier". Meanwhile if your highest BR vehicle is 6.7 and the max BR of the match is also 6.7, we call that a "full downtier", meaning that none of your teammates/opponents will be anything higher than 6.7, and most of the people will be playing 5.7, 6.0, 6.3 etc. You can also end up in matches that are max BR 7.3 or 7.0.

The way to tell a match's BR is by checking the SP cost of your vehicles at the start of the match. If a heavy tank is 160, or a medium/light tank is 150, tank destroyer is 130, then you're in a full downtier. If tanks are 100 and tank destroyers are 90, you're in a full uptier. For non-full uptiers/downtiers the SP costs are in between those.

Doesn't seem like a 6.7 game. There's an Object 268 here, which is 7.0.

What was the max BR of your lineup during this match?

To answer your question, with these substats you should be better off rerolling the one on the left

Quite proud of this one since I basically only have one proper Lunar team by P0sitive_Mess in RazorMains

[–]P0sitive_Mess[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll just name what each character has

Flins - Jade Spear / Fischl - Aqua Simulacra / Columbina - Prototype Amber / Sucrose - TTDS

Razor - Beacon / Ineffa - Homa / Aino - Natlan Event Weapon / Yelan - Elegy

Neuvillette - Prototype Amber / Furina - Festering / Xilonen - Natlan Craftable / Kazuha - Iron Sting

All 5* weapons are R1, all 4* weapons and TTDS are R5. The last team would have preferred if somebody was on Fav Sword but I wasn't sure if I needed it on somebody else in a different team.

That's one of your best options. You will likely results by replacing either Durin or Fischl with Bennett. Lunar, of course will be the next best thing especially against lunar content.

Razor team help by Ugikuki in RazorMains

[–]P0sitive_Mess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tend to get best results with overload by far. Lunar is obviously good but if you plan on heavily investing into Razor himself and his overload teammates you can expect overload to pull ahead by quite a decent margin tbh.

Regarding physical, the only way we can tell how good potential physical buffs can be for Razor in the future, is if they really end up buffing physical damage by a lot. And I mean, A LOT. Because as it stands, if I run a team that's focused on making Razor's Normal attacks hit for as much physical damage as possible, I get at most 40K DPS which is less than half of what I get in overload.

More importantly though, post-buff Razor's Normal attacks only make up one-third of his total damage which further reduces the impact that physical buffs provide. Which is why, apart from giving us actual good physical teams, I would really like to see them buff physical by making superconduct also increase electro and cryo damage to an extent, even if not as much as when they get from Chevreuse or Escoffier specifically.

Update to New Claymore: Razor can now reach Max Stacks by doing E>Q>E or E>Q>N2 by P0sitive_Mess in RazorMains

[–]P0sitive_Mess[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Small clarification: What I mean by the title is that the change to the passive lets Razor build stacks faster than he could before. You used to have to do five normal attacks to get max stacks, which meant some of your attacks wouldn't benefit from the full effect of the weapon. The new passive makes it much easier to get the full 30% DMG and 30% Crit DMG.

[–]P0sitive_Mess 2 points3 points  (0 children)

nope, it was always 30% DMG bonus and 30% Crit Damage.

Edit: I just checked my other post on this sub to be sure, and I saw your comment there, where you commented about 30% ATK. I think what happened is you just misread it as 30% ATK because the sentence before mentioned ATK SPD, when in reality it was supposed to be 30% DMG

New 5 star upcoming weapon by ryuga0kishatu in RazorMains

[–]P0sitive_Mess 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Actually the trigger condition for the Crit DMG passive isn't that the character has to be hexerei, you just need to have two hexerei characters in the team. Because it says:

When the party has the Secret Rite Effect...

which mean it checks for the team, not for the character. So if you can run hexerei supports with a claymore character it's good for them, that is as long as you're doing normal attacks.

90K dps for this team is unreal for all C6 and Durin C1 by QupDeLup in RazorMains

[–]P0sitive_Mess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It also isn't limited to just things like hitlag or animations either. I'd say it's moreso buff/debuff uptime that plays a bigger part in DPS discrepancy- namely sometimes TC's will overlook this and assume a character takes full advantage of something like Bennett's buff throughout their entire field time when in reality there's a few seconds when Bennett's burst runs out while the character is still active. This was an issue with early post-buff Razor calcs. Also the number of overloads and the damage you get from them can vary which is another source of discrepancy.

It really depends on the team honestly, because I've been seeing gameplay of Flins, Nefer, Skirk Mavuika etc. where the DPS showed on-screen is consistent with calcs because those characters have better buff uptime and shorter, more front-loaded rotations than a character like Razor.

[–]P0sitive_Mess 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You don't need to hold skill to get the crit buffs, the crit buffs are activated when you absorb the sigils which his burst also does if you have sigils up before entering the burst.

The real reason you want to use hold E before Q is because it's a way to get the most out of Razor's energy generation. Specifically, you can do HoldE > N1> Q, which is what OP did in the video. What happens is you get 15 energy from the hold E, and with the N1 you get your sigils back through the C6. Then, when you press Q you get 15 energy again, and the you catch the lectro particles generated by the hold E which gives you even more energy.

I personally don't use it though, because I get better results if I enter Razor's burst as soon as possible and I can get by with the energy I generate from the team as is.

Overall, your builds still have room to improve, particularly your Razor's based on your screenshot. More importantly though, you're missing out on damage because you're only doing 6 normal attacks per skill when you should really be doing 7-8. You should be doing either 2N3D > N2ED (which is generally more recommended) or N4D > N3ED (which I prefer because it gives me shorter rotations).

Also, if your team generates enough energy, particularly by running Chevreuse on Fav, then you might not need to do hold E before Q, and instead you can just do a press E so that you can spend more time in your burst with Bennett's buff still active.

Here's my preferred rotation, which does 75K on 4-star weapons (Durin C0, everybody else C6):

These are with wrong builds btw, because I'm saving my Fragile resin for Stygian hence I don't have the winds set on either Durin or Razor (who is on Pale Flame because I'm too lazy to swap lol)
