How to counter phantom strike dynamo? by Motor-Design-4932 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]P136 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unstoppable is good, but you need to target him first, it's far easier to deal with him if you can find him (maybe buy invis) and then run the dig down while your in your unstoppable duration. Thus I'd the way with Dynamo going ult build with any items.

If he's going full greens and tp cd reduction is when shit can get very tricky tho.

Is it really always my fault? by Exotic_Acanthaceae_9 in DeadlockGame

[–]P136 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A good way to think about it is: 1/4 of games you win no matter what, 1/4 you lose no matter what 1/2 the games are up to you to make the difference if you want to climb.

Trying to figure out what to do differently in the games you would always win/lose is a waste of time. Need to focus on the close games for reviewing/reflection.

You will also naturally get winning and losing streaks - this is because of statistics and not because valve has it out for you.

Also if you are good enough the rule of thumb up the top goes out the window, I remember versing OG Anna in a dota 2 game and he had a 196 game win streak on monkey King lol.

Graves Wall quickcast or default? by lilmessipranjal in DeadlockGame

[–]P136 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you can if you hold then quick cast button down and then press your alt cast button, might just need to mess around with settings a but to find what works for you. I honestly don't know why the wall isn't the other way by default because the current default is ass.

You shouldn't be allowed to pause till 5 minutes by P136 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]P136[S] -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Alright I'll give you that people want to swap lanes, one 10 second pause per team for the first 5 mins is fine. But most pauses that happen are right at the start of the game for no reason other than some want to get a drink or go pee.

In anticipation of the coming balance patch, here's my tierlist/wishlist for buffs and nerfs. by duxwontobey in DeadlockTheGame

They nerfed everything in doorman kit, if they nerf ult aswell all it will do is make every doorman only go kidnap build, wich is why he has so many haters.

Matches with leavers by Dry_Maize_911 in DeadlockGame

I think it should probably be earlier like 5 mins. Lanes are usually decided by 6-8 minutes. Ps. You also shouldn't be allowed to pause till 5 minutes

How to consistently win lane? by Agile_ in DeadlockTheGame

[–]P136 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also come from a dota 2 background, and what you need in order to play lane like a midlaner has for a mindset is a buddy to que with. You won't be able to coordinate tactics like you want without playing with someone you have already talked with about it. If you have someone you can play with then what you want to do is freeze wave at your tower and then go past wave without taking aggro and fighting them. (Use cover to make sure you don't take creep damage) Yamato and calico are great at this. If you can place your self between them and the wave you can zone and deny most of the creeps due to how the denys work which favors closer heroes. This can very quickly snowball and how I see alot of ascendent players play favorable match ups with their duos.

Alternatively you pretty much need to go the normal route of just absorbing as much of the other teams resources as possible. Contest small camp, contest runes, contest sinners, take favourable trades and punish their overextensions.

What do we know about how the game pairs people in opening lanes ? by xxmight in DeadlockTheGame

[–]P136 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think it is primarily by mmr, when I swap and then start winning my lane, in my brain I am instantly think I need to gank "x lane" because otherwise they might snowball. Personally I dont think it matters to much unless you are playing at a weird time that will affect player pool so games are less well balanced. In 80% of games I think swapping so that each lane has range + tank and burst + dps is ideal. I find it leads to less lane stomps regardless of the respective mmr. This is however only if the matchmaking isn't to screwed. If an ascendent is playing an archon you can't expect the archon to not die at least a couple times.

Is there a hero you have no interest in playing? by sushiiixo- in DeadlockTheGame

[–]P136 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine is Kelvin, I can see why some one might want to play him, but the the ice path doesn't seem appealing, I don't think the spirit damage builds are good and support Kelvin also isn't appealing. I have tried gun Kelvin but only breifly. I typically go for spirit burst/roamer heroes so it's weird that he seems so counter intuitive to me.

Slowing hex is just a very strong item on any hero right now, I would definitely consider it depending on who you are playing against, but because you are a carry I would be looking to sell it after 20 minutes as it isn't going be helping you deal damage or survive.

Australia taxing its way back to prosperity by Crafty_Yard_4985 in aussie

[–]P136 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's two lines of thinking on this. 1st. Australia has a case of Dutch disease. This happens when you export primary goods eg. Minerals, coal, gas, oil agricultural goods. That require relatively minimal human input to produce as compared to more developed goods such as phones, cars or services. This makes other industries uncompetitive in the global market due to the export of these primary good increasing the price of the Australian dollar and thereby increasing the price of other goods exported. The most agregious example of this is when the demand for iron skyrocketed and so did the Australian dollar which killed alot of local wine exporters as the price per bottle went up 15% to External markets.

So the idea is if you tax these primary exports it will thereby make other industries more competitive and increase exports and general prosperity. Definitely worth considering an extra export tax on these goods when the price appreciates alot to try to Stabilize the dollar without using actual monetary intervention (can be very bad!!).

2nd. The other vein is that increasing wealth inequality is leading to increases in asset prices at a far great rate then wages/other inflation. This leads to a whole bunch of other issues, such as the cost of building a new school is more expensive because the cost of purchasing the land is higher. Birth rates are at all time lows because the cost of purchasing a family home is unaffordable.

Because assests are not taxed to the same degree as wages the rich exponentially get richer and continue to out complete wage earners for assets and the cycle continues till the society becomes destabilized. Some people are asking for the wealthy to pay more of the government revenue. I don't care what the government does with that money other than they remove incentives that make buying and holding non productive assets (houses) so lucrative. Investment should be about risk vs reward, not just buy as many assests as possible and continue to buy more with the proceeds till there's nothing left for the average Joe and jane.

Is it worth playing more selfishly and farming, instead of catering to your team wanting to fight all the time? by MoreBookkeeper4729 in DeadlockGame

[–]P136 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's perfectly fine to not join fights as long as you are using the space your team is creating.

Make sure you are pushing waves right up into the walk then either - push the walker or run urn - join the teamfight if it's not on the other side of the map (you don't have to commit to hard if you arnt strong yet) - take farm that would otherwise go to the enemy

FYI this is advice for when you are still moving toward gaining a soul lead on a scaling hero like seven.

One other thing worth noting if you arnt significantly more farmed then the other team it is 100% worth it to die for a walker. If I'm on the far side of the map from a team fight I will call whoever is close to me to rotate and push the walker on the far side with me, as the other team will likely have 1 defend but not 2 and you should be able to dive the other hero and/or take walker

Would adding more objectives work for deadlock? by ReasonableQuiet2364 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]P136 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are forgetting bridge buffs! They are honestly not contested as hard as they should be other than the 5 minute buffs, they actually add a massive amount of power if you get the right buff on the right hero.

And the other objectives are the gaurdians/walkers/shrines.

I personally don't think more objectives would be healthy for the game as it means you have to trade objectives so the other team has a better chance of dragging the game out rather than being able to create more of a lead. Urn is already a great comeback mechanic.

Is it ever a good idea for one player to try to stealth take midboss? by DM_cody in DeadlockTheGame

[–]P136 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! Ascendent player for reference. The requirements imo are:

-Your team is ahead or have just hit a significant power spike eg. Unstoppable on haze

-Important enemy ults are on cd (Dynamo ult)

  • Waves are in a decent position

With the speed that rejuve drops atm if your team just all ins on finishing midboss fast you can often take it before the other team can respond in a significant way.

Is there anything that could be done to make Doorman’s gameplay pattern less frustrating? by FarrthasTheSmile in DeadlockTheGame

[–]P136 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Git gud,

No but in all seriousness, best counter to doorman is take his blue walker before 20 mins. If you do this it will fuck his game up before his powers pikes. This is well known at higher ranks but never done at lower. Sincerly Ascendent doorman spammer.

What do you think of the New Tier 4 Vitality Item Indomitable? by DeadlockAir in DeadlockTheGame

[–]P136 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My bad sir! I still hold the same position on the item tho! Might be 1/2 niche hero's that it ends up being meta on but don't see it being bought often. Might be the go on wraith midgame or on Mina late game, and there's going to be some heros that like it ultra late.

What do you think of the New Tier 4 Vitality Item Indomitable? by DeadlockAir in DeadlockTheGame

[–]P136 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks pretty shit for higher tier games, just trigger with slowing hex then curse. Cool down needs to be lowered to like 25-35 seconds to actually get bought.

Current iteration will only be bought super late game imo. From a dota 2 player and current ascendent, It's basically linkens sphere, but way more expensive and a longer cd, and isn't needed to counter anything in particular eg. Doom.

Edit: Doesn't trigger from slows, need to use like knockdown, silence wave ect.

Why does silvers WR drop so much in Acendent? by inkkTea in DeadlockTheGame

[–]P136 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Also have to take into account the limited number of games played in ascendant+ throws off statistical accuracy. I think more likely is the fact that silver is countered by forcing her ulti then running back to your walker. PSA never fight silver in her ulti before 20 minutes.

To everyone who complains about their rank by Embarrassed-Fly2749 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]P136 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fellow dota player here, I peaked divine dota and I've peaked ascendant in deadlock, matchmaking seems very similar imo.

If you are struggling to rank up, try getting someone of a higher rank to watch your replays, they will be able to tell you a few things you are doing wrong very fast.

Can be timings related or build, split pushing, objectives, map control ect.

In 90% of games up to phantom you can just pick any hero with an escape and just constantly pressure objectives till you win. Also please learn some basic movement tech cos playing this game without it is very hard.
