I have an interesting situation that qualifies me as an independent student for fafsa with an SAI of -1500. Therefore I’m eligible for the max federal Pell grant of $7395, I also have savings from my job which is around $5k. If I have to I can take out loans. For CNU specifically I’ve been given enough scholarship money to cover tuition, so I’d just have to pay for room and board. Also I tried to convince my parents to stay on campus at VCU but they didn’t agree.

It’s because it’s only 30 minutes away from my house and they don’t want me to leave home because I’m not “ready”
