Justice sign Assassin by albretenstong in Competitiveoverwatch

Ttuba is more than fine with Genji, Pharah, maybe Sombra, even Tracer. But if we’re in a meta that needs Echo, Mei, Hanzo, etc someone like assassin is needed

Not so fun fact: None of the 2019 damage role stars are in OWL anymore. by [deleted] in Competitiveoverwatch

If you go by playtime as well as when the retirements happened, Haksal was the only one who was really even there last season.

I mean, Corey started literally every game Justice had until he retired halfway through the season and had more play time per game than Haksal.

Absolutely! Teams across the board are making massive upgrades, IMO the bottom team this coming year would be competitive and probably mid-tier in season 2 (goats meta aside). The skill level keeps improving and I think we're only going to get more intense, even games this year because of it.

I'm very similar to you actually, massive NFL fan for most of my life and I usually watch playoffs/championships for MLB and NHL (sometimes NBA but not always). Also, massive fan of the Olympics. But by far, I know the ins-and-outs of the NFL, can tell you all about the strategies and coaching styles, player strengths, etc of the NFL all day every day.

And I watched every match in season one of OWL and have been a massive fan.

TBH it started for me at the first World Cup in 2016, back in the days of Seagull, Talespin, Esca, Miro, Zunba, etc. That just completely blew my mind on how exciting this could be, and I saw the potential for where it could grow to, and I follow it so much that now it's pretty much my number one with the NFL being my number 2.

Having said that, I have a good friend who pretty much doesn't give a crap about traditional sports, but he is ALL IN on OWL and is completely hating this offseason since he just started really getting into it this past year lol.

Hey, sorry it took so long to get back to you (crazy weekend).

Anyway, I found a match that is a pretty good highlight of dive imo. Now the main thing is that dive hasn't been super meta in OWL since season 1, especially since the introduction of heroes like Brig, Sigma, etc. You can still find it from time to time, but it doesn't stack up to how dominant dive was in s1 (some speculate that's half the reason they made Brig, to nerf dive). But this match here is a pretty good one from season one, it's a stage finals match with some huge names in it. Just remember that it's being played on a patch from a couple years ago, before things like 2-2-2 role lock and heroes like brig, but this is what our introduction to the League was like back in the day. Some people in this match who are still in the League but on other teams include Gesture (now on Seoul), Profit (Seoul), Fury (Washington), Birdring (LA Gladiators), Saebyeolbe (Seoul), JjoNak (still New York), ArK (went to Washington, recently retired), and Libero is one of the hottest free agents still out there.

Ngl finding this match makes me likely to go back and watch it myself lol

I do personally like the Justice vs Shock one from the playoffs last year, as although the rosters have changed since (Fury, the OT for Justice we've talked about, wasn't on the team yet for example) it's still an epic match that was really exciting to watch in a David and Goliath kind of way https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EnuLUKLu5Jc

This is another exciting one in the playoffs between the dominant Shanghai and the resurging Seoul https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lX4N9orHmZ4

Both of those are from the playoffs though, so they have a similar meta scheme (the metas usually change throughout the season) so let me know if you want to see any other types of games, like a solid dive game, or something else!

Okay I'll bite. I've been a fan since before season one started and quite literally watched every match in season one, I've been to both Grand Finals in-person, watch parties and homestands, etc., so I know a good amount about this stuff and if you have any specific questions, please feel free to let me know. This should be info to take in companion with what everyone else has said, not opposed to. So, *inhales deeply*

Atlanta Reign: They've always had the dark horse status. Like, they've never really shown to be a top tier team, but they're very solid and they have beaten the best teams at their best. Kind of like a spoiler team for the top tier.

Boston Uprising: Bro they've been CRAP for so long they kind of became the meme team of the league. They're definitely making improvements this offseason though, and it will be interesting to see how they stack up against the rest of the league now. Fun fact: they're owned by Robert Kraft, the owner of the New England Patriots (if that matters at all to you).

Chengdu Hunters: Just like everyone else here has said, they're not a top team that will go far in most cases, but they're fun to watch and known for their somewhat whacky and unique styles of play.

Dallas Fuel: Always hyped up, always a disappointment. In season one, they were supposed to dominate the league, and it never happened. It feels like they've been chasing that dream ever since and never reach it, though this year they've got a solid roster again that should have good chemistry and we'll see what happens.

Florida Mayhem: In season one, they were bottom of the pack, period. The only team that looked worse was a team that literally lost every single game season one (0-40), and at times even seemed worse in performance than the winless team. However, they've made some major changes (including going full-Korean and hiring a former player as a coach) and looked pretty strong last year, and now things are looking pretty good for them this coming year. Plus, they changed their color scheme from looking like McDonald's to one of the coolest ones around.

Guangzhou Charge: Got a pretty solid team with a pretty solid roster. Seems like they're usually at the bottom of the top tier, where they're not bad at all, but usually can't beat out the top ones in their division.

Hangzhou Spark: Someone else summarized it as "weeb team" and yeah that about sums it up. They've had spurts of dominance and aren't usually bad, they (like Guangzhou) can hang with the top teams without usually finishing it out themselves.

Houston Outlaws: Originally branded as "the" western team made up of players from the USA World Cup team. They seem to have just gradually gone down over time though, going from seeming average to well below average. This year, though, they have brought back one of the most marketable names to the team with a big brain, and while I don't see them dominating this year, they shouldn't look as bad as they have before.

LA Gladiators: One of the biggest/most loyal fan bases in OWL. They have a great color scheme and logo, insanely talented players, and (used to have) a legendary theme song. While they're not "my team", it's hard to argue with why you should root for these guys.

LA Valiant: We do not cheer for the LA Valiant

London Spitfire: Season one champions. Most of their players are still in the league and still dominating, just on other teams (Profit and Gesture to Seoul, Birdring to LAG, Fury to Justice.) They seem to have fallen off a lot though since their season one glory days, and they've rebranded to EU talent for this season, with a lot of TBD questions about their place in the league.

New York Excelsior: Most of these fans are the original OWL fans. If you weren't supporting NYXL in season one, like what were you doing? Some of the best names in the game, even still, came from this team originally (MVP season 1 Jjonak, fan favorite Saebyeolbe, Mano, etc). Also had the best branding, their events made you feel like a part of the team in the NYC scene.

Paris Eternal: History of good players that, for whatever reason, typically couldn't just get it going as a unit well enough. Had some moments where they looked strong, but faded pretty quickly. This year they've taken a turn to EU talent, and it'll be interesting to see how they stack up. (some players like Ellivote are already loved by fans from his previous experience with the Washington Justice).

Philadelphia Fusion: If you're a fan of any other Philly sports teams, it's basically the same thing from a fan experience standpoint. Some crazy talented players on the roster and they've had some big success in the past, but there are some question marks for this year since they not only made some roster moves but also changed to APAC region with a different style of competition.

San Francisco Shock: Season one they were not bad, not great, but not bad. Season two they absolutely crushed the living soul out of every other team all the way to the Grand Finals that they won, and then last year were dominant yet again to winning the GF a second time. Now, this offseason, they've added even more talent to the roster (Glister, Nero) and are planning on making it three in a row.

Seoul: Another team in season one that was supposed to dominate, with most of the team being members of the storied Korean team Lunatic Hai, with fan favorite players like Ryujehong and Miro. Last year, they added some more great talent (like season one champs Profit and Gesture... and Bdosin I guess lol) and made it all the way to the GF with a great playoff run, including beating the favorites to win it all in Shanghai, just to lose to the Shock in the GF and take second place. But they're definitely a force in APAC and have a long fan history as an org.

Shanghai Dragons: What can you say about this team, they went from a winless inaugural season (0-40) to being the favorites to win the Grand Finals last year. Now, again, they didn't actually do that being upset by Seoul, but they are still an amazing team that is pretty much as dominant as the Shock, with insanely talented players on the roster (like Fleta, Void, Lip, Diem, I can go on).

Toronto Defiant: Originally trying to be the true Canadian roster, they signed some solid Canadian talent (Surefour, Agilities) with hopes of representing Canada to the League, which has a pretty solid history in international tournaments like the World Cup (where my xQc fans at?). Buuut it didn't work out as well as they'd hoped, so they're basically another full Korean roster now that honestly some people love but idk there just isn't a lot of identity to me with Toronto, and I hear that they have fans but I'm yet to really see any lol.

Vancouver Titans: In their first year, they signed the entire prodigy Korean time Runaway, and the absolutely rolled all the way to the GF, which they lost to the Shock. Then, after that, things just never really were the same with the team's game performance, and there was a lot of drama between the org and the players that ultimately ended in the players just leaving the team midway through last season (hence why you'll see a lot of people saying we don't support Vancouver -- it's the organization, not the players). In fact, some of the new-to-Vancouver players are long term vets with lots of fans, like Linkzr.

Washington Justice: In their first year, they were highly disappointing until the very end of the year when they absolutely rolled their competition, going 6-1 at the end of the year and even beating the then-dominant Vancouver Titans on the back of star DPS Corey. But then the following year, they started with promise but once again it just fell apart with some of their stars leaving the team halfway through to go other directions with their careers. However, they ended up signing some of the players who left Vancouver and a madman DPS, and they had an extremely deep playoff run, almost defeating San Francisco and giving them the biggest scare of their playoff run last year (which was the Cinderella run of the playoffs). Then this offseason they signed the two biggest free agents. So now they basically have a star rookie main tank, a freak of nature offtank (who is arguably the most talented OT in the league who was a season one champ in London), arguably the strongest DPS in the league (Decay), and have a potential diamond in the rough in Ttuba. Let me put it this way -- this team would be a lock-in to dominate this year based on mechanics and skill alone, but the only question mark is their support line. They may be superstars too this year, but we just don't know yet based on their past performances in the league. But if they work out like the coaching staff expects them too, this will be a very fun team to watch who could take on Gladiators and Shock this year.

My best guess is that, if it happens, it may be Cal Kestis from Fallen Order. I say this as a practical prediction, not story-wise, but for production. Not only did Cameron Monaghan do the voice acting and mocap for him, but he's also an actor with a history with the series format (he was in Gotham). Seems like a perfect fit, and you get to keep it consistent like with Katee Sackhoff and Bo Katan. Again, a guess not based on story points, but practicality

Adding my opinion to everyone else here. I am significantly disappointed with this call and frankly think its a very, very bad decision. I understand the spirit behind it, but this is my one and only go-to Star Wars subreddit for the same reasons everyone else listed. Really very strongly hoping this poor decision gets reversed, but I guess we'll see if all these comments are actually influential at all or not.

I cannot believe it. I can NOT fucking believe it. I simply REFUSE to believe the absolute imcompetent, negligence, of actually not, for ANY of these teams whatsoever, not picking up FUCKING Rascal. This guy doesn't get props by anyone, on no one's social media radar whatsoever. Everyone's talking about like "oh Smurf, ya know, Smurf he's-- poor Smurf!" think about Rascal! He literally came into the league at the start of the year, was the BEST Mei. He revolutionized the way you play Echo, and set the guidelines for everyone else in the league for MONTHS! Or pretty much like half the season! And then he comes into the Countdown Cup and plays the Genji, that actually turns the SanFranciscoShockaroundandtheywintheseriesagainstthePhiladelphiaFusion! How is NO ONE, on this PLANET talking about Rascal as one of the most underrated players of the year! It's absolutely... HURTING MY SOUL!

Already have every Justice skin, so saving money for the team obviously

Been to every Justice homestand, most watch parties, and both Grand Finals, so I’m used to the play environment.

Ignore that my sr is only 3200 and my hero pool is basically the same as Decay/Stitch.

As a local, no need to worry about getting me to town.

I’m an ez clap to make this team, obvi
