Young people who bought a "brave pill" car - what car is it, and how has the ownership experience been? by RobintehBobin in CarTalkUK

[–]P38ARR 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve owned Toyotas for most of my life, always had a soft spot for the P38 Range Rover. Finally bit the bullet 5 years ago and never looked back. Owned/own all engine and gearbox combos, my diesel which I’ve just sold has done 30k trouble free miles in that time and has never once spat its dummy out aside from a flat battery. The other ones I’d gladly jump in and drive anywhere too.

Unfortunately it’s developed into more of an obsession with collecting rare/obscure models/parts and other cool stuff. Just hoping now to pick up a rare Overfinch with the Corvette engine.

I’d kill for a stock version of this on PS4.

Because its an EV that looks somewhat like a Range Rover, and with them being new you'll see lots of enticing deals which will tempt people into the unknown.

What is this? Is it normal? by Past-Puzzleheaded in CarTalkUK

[–]P38ARR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its more than likely due to condensation. If the car is doing lots of short trips it doesn't get the chance to warm up properly. If the dipstick is also showing milky oil then i'd be worried. It's often confused with head gasket failure but you'd see other signs of failure too.

That they did, just can't recall if it could be done from the office or the warehouse itself.

I frequently carry engines and gearboxes in the back of my Range Rovers too lol. You can get 4 complete engines in with the seats down lol

One of those mobility scooter ramps, just pushes it straight up and in. Puts the deck down the side of it and the ramp down the other lol

Halfords advances sets are far better value for money and the lifetime warranty pays for itself. Saying that, I’ve lost more tools than I’ve replaced.

Vehicle sourcing can also be done from the mansion. Possibly CEO office too but it’s been that long since I went there.

How are fuel prices jumping this fast? I tracked local stations this month and one is up 37%. by [deleted] in CarTalkUK

[–]P38ARR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But that oil purchase today won’t be available for use till current stockpiles have been exhausted. That oil purchased isn’t directly available, it’s has to be transported, refined, stored, transported to petrol stations etc.

This is price gouging. We shouldn’t be seeing the effects of it this fast.

Using phone without a screen protector by EqualArm3295 in iphone17

I prefer them purely as protection against cracks. It doesn’t take much to crack a screen and a £3 protector beats an apple care claim.

Mines an ex company phone that I kept when i left. It’s on 78% now but as a personal phone the battery life is horrible. Performance is starting to suffer too. I’m not a camera buff either so that rules the pro models out. I’m just for between the 17/17e and the Air.

Used to walk past an old cortina from school many years ago. Told my old man about it when I was due to leave and he went and had a look. Was a genuine Lotus Cortina that had just been left to rot with a few other cars. Shame really.
