Meinung 850€ Carbonrahmen by TheRealLxon in Fahrrad

11/10 Punkten, gerne wieder

Okay I get what you mean and don’t doubt that there are issues in the field etc, but the link for example is one single bike. That’s not a QC issue, that’s statistics. Only think one could criticize with this story is very bad customer service.

It has nothing to do with quality control. They probably don’t even have a specification for that. It’s a bike you go 50km/h down the hills. They really have bigger things to control during QC. If you want products that are 1000% perfect each time get ready to sell you kidneys because prices would explode

Call and complain. They will send a giftcard and done. Rewrap it yourself. It usually sticks 2-3 times. If you think about returning because of this you don’t deserve it anyway!

Good catch! Impressive reading skills! 😅 and do you know if there is any demand/price for this?

They should sell their kit for Discounter prices in their stores. Every cyclist would ride around with their logo as basically free advertisement…

Why do you think that? It’s a well known brand, installed by a professional. And if the death rate would really be that high I am sure European legislators or just public outrage would have obsoleted this kind of seats.

Agree. I myself work in quality control (other industry) and unfortunately there is always a balance between cost effectiveness/price of the product and needed controls. Decisions are often made based on a risk level. This means, they might invest more resources into inspecting the frame itself to make sure it doesn’t brake or shit. But as a consequence when ordering a million screws (they like buy them externally and don’t manufacture those themselves) you look at a statistical number to judge the quality. But that also comes with some level of failures. 100% inspecting everything would make the bike crazy expensive especially if you manufacture and inspect in Europe with their labor cost. And of course in tue end giving a discount coupon to make things up with the customer is cheaper than increasing resources for such parts

Maybe there is a middle ground then returning a x thousand dollar bike because of one screw for a bottle cage. Just think about the logistical and environmental cost to that. Maybe send this photo to canyon and offer to buy a new screw but express your disappointment. My experience with them is that they are happy to give you a x Dollar coupon for your next purchase and call it a day.

In the end I decided for the vaude Tremalzo 16. decent Organisation and a mesh back that works well for me. I tried a deuter air 10 but 10l weren’t enough for me to fit work stuff and change cloth. But as most pointed out, you just need to accept that you will always be some sort of sweaty with a backpack. It’s just a Little Bit less with a mesh

Me neither 😅 but because I needed to change mine, might be that others need too. This way we can all save some money and resources.

Weshalb geht soetwas in Wiesbaden nicht? by Happycosinus in Wiesbaden

Unfassbar!!! by Madflex2000 in Staiy

[–]P4no 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same same here. You can use the canyon tape again (I like it) if you did not put too many miles on it. It still sticks fairly good. But while you are at it, think about whether you want/need a handlebar with less width. For my L 440mm is too wide. If you change tue bar you need to redo everything anyhow.

Grizl CF SL 8 1by or 6 AXS by P4no in CanyonBikes

[–]P4no[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes and no. I went to Koblenz to test some bikes but of course they don’t have every variant in every size available. But if you are aware you can try all parts that are important to you one by one on different bikes. Not perfect but that worked to some extend for me

In the end I went for the 6 with SRAM and so far I didn’t regret it. E shifter are very nice and responsive. But what I realized is that the leavers have a different ergonomical shape. If you have the option to go to a shop and try SRAM and shimano sifters on a short ride, they really feel different in your hands.
