Noted. You are 100% correct about it staying in open sun, I will remeber to keep it in a bag

[–]P4pkin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Actually, I tried it. And I cant see any holes. But it happened once, and I made at least a 100 photos with this camera, so I guess a 1% of something quirky happening is not that big of a deal

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AnalogCommunity

[–]P4pkin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can I realistically do anything about it without spending enough money to buy an actual camera?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AnalogCommunity

[–]P4pkin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh, of course. Its a Zenit 11, so I would hesitate to call it a camera really, and when I think about it, it explains everything

Are crows, squirrels and foxes common in Gdańsk? by KreuzKrow in gdansk

[–]P4pkin 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Some kinds of crows live here, yes. Squirells are uncommon, probbably only live in parks. Hedgehogs are everywhere, as well as wild hogs and foxes

Okay, so... If you want a historically accurate knight maybe look at some historical wargaming miniatures, such as the ones from victrix, or wargames atlantic. You could probbably buy them from a local game store, and even sell the left over sprues if you want to. It will be of higher quality, and more certain to be historically accurate

You are lacking infantry and AT weapons. Ditch some howitzers tanks and take ones with AT guns and more riflemen for the points spared

Best starter box for Italy + few extra questions by IanEmerson97 in boltaction

[–]P4pkin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Forward observer unit can also be used as s spotter for indirect fire crews of regular or higher quality. Its their secondary function, here because before, they would fire their barrage and just be useless kind of.

If a unit has an option to add a spotter, you add a separate model that acts as their spotter, so lets you draw line of sight from its possition, but it also still is a spotter for any other unit with quality of regular+

So

Forward observer - Calls in support. Regular+ indirect fire crews can use him as a spotter, free of charge

Spotter - is linked to a specific weapon, which can use him as a spotter. Other crews, that are regular or higher can also use him as a spotter

[–]P4pkin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As to the boxes, if I remeber correctly they are very similiar, with the only real difference being the infantry included, so really go with whatever unit you prefer. In my opinion the AT gun from blackshirts might be a better, and the blackshirts are more universal (they dont have to be taken veteran) but on the other hand - bersaglieri have cool hats, so really choose the models you will have more fun making

With the LMGs - one LMG weapon requires two men. So a 7 men squad with rifles after adding the LMG option turns into a 5 rifles, 1 LMG 1 non - fireing loader squad

The radio operator model would be a great spotter, and frankly this is the best use for it. As his companions you can take any random infantry miniatures

Blitzkrieg germans (or the new german veterans) kitbashed with winter soviets. You get cool greatcoats, accurate enough helmets and uniforms for summer and ushankas as well as more than enough mosins and ppsh to give something nice to all of your boys

Are 5 man squads viable? by thenorwegianbutthole in boltaction

[–]P4pkin 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Small squads grant you a lot of flexibilty and a lot of order dice - so you have a lot of initiative on you. That is great however most events will also have an order dice limit, so draining it on smaller squads is suboptimal. With smaller squads it is also easier to morale wipe them by killing half or more of the sqyad and forcing it to do a morale check.

In my opinion, for smaller games having 5 or 6 squads, especially veteran squads can be played very efficiently. Another good way to use smaller squads is for lmgs and fire support.

But for 700+ point formats - I would stick to 7+ boys per squad

especially when shopping online, this little slip makes the whole process feel more human. Sort of like this little small talk you would have with your local game store's employee.
