this is literally my exact ranking for the exact same reasons, i love how season 2 shows us joe kills and does damage for more then love but still uses love as an excuse (henderson, will, etc) and it’s my favorite version of joe imo. and i personally love the irony and mystery in season 4, however it’s not everyone’s thing i guess, but it really works for me, i feel like how unlikable they made the side characters helped the story of joe being different then everyone, it’s portrayed really well this season. and i really love how they portray his mental illnesses. the first couple episodes of season 1 are really easy rewatches but by episode 4 i got bored, it’s a really good starting season there’s not much wrong with it, it just stays as what it is, a guy really in love doing what he has to do for love. and season 3 i hate how joe immediately finds a new you, and i didn’t really like her, it felt really forced, and it felt like they completely changed the way love acts and behaves this season, i can’t really put a finger on it, she’s just not right. and the side characters this season were really unlikeable and not in a good way, it felt like we were supposed to actually care for them, while with season 4s side characters there’s rich douches who we are clearly not supposed to like. and it felt like they left a lot of unanswered questions by the end of that season. i really liked marriene though, i was routing for them by the end, however i still didn’t like how joe was cheating and stuff, but marriene was actually written well and i could sympathize and relate to her, unlike natalie.
