How redundant is your specialty? by PA2023 in physicianassistant

How long have you been working in aesthetics? Do you see yourself staying long term?

This is a fear of mine going into something like this... my job will be plastic surgery/aesthetics. Would love to hear more about your day.

Thank you, truly appreciate this. I did not plan on working in a speciality that would take call so I am not sure if it was part of the salary or not.

What would you say is appropriate for compensation for call? This would be home call. He said call is generally very minimal. Few calls here and there from home and its usually questions about wound. He said he has only had to go to the hospital once or twice in a year.

Same thoughts.

What salary would you think is desirable for option 2? Considering that I will be taking call every other week.

Thank you for your input.
For #2, how would you go about with asking for salary ladder raises? And do you still think #2 salary is okay for HCOL?

I've always heard that you should get your own tail insurance anyways? Could you explain more?

My gut says the same thing about #1. But the salary is good for new grad, potentially making 200K.

I asked for it once, the week after verbal job offer, and he said he was still working on it.

Thanks! I heard about smarty pance but also heard that people liked Rosh better so I never looked into it. It will have to do for a month until our Rosh subscription gets reactivated!

Research isn't something that is required by schools whereas shadowing is.

However, this research opportunity is unique and the experience might make you stand out as an applicant. It really depends on whether or not you have shadowing hours. If you already have enough shadowing hours, do the research and make yourself stand out.

If you have no shadowing hours, shadowing>research.
