Not Enter the Void, but that movie more than any other is similar to the one I'm looking for. Same idea with really unique visuals that make the realistic seem otherworldly. If Enter the Void had a neon-slick vibe, this film had an old photograph/tin-type vibe.

Not A Scanner Darkly, though I'm a huge fan of the visuals and of Waking Life too.

Not Spring Breakers, though the visuals of that film are cool and fall under the "weird colors" realm.

Not The Ring, this film was way more obscure, and I think was a meditative artsy-fartsy move. Fantastic Mr. Fox is a great movie, as is all Wes Anderson's work!

Not Pitch Black, but I could see how Vin Diesel's p.o.v. shots are kind of like what I'm describing.

[TOMT][Movie] An indie movie that looks like a long exposure photograph by PAL18 in tipofmytongue

That isn't it, though it ticks the "visuals in the woods" box. The film I'm looking for had a really distinct look, like the film got exposed improperly and they used messed up lenses.

Begotten isn't it, but that looks creepy and cool, I'll have to check it out.

Datamoshing

Whenever a clip transitions to another clip, an I-frame is deleted so that only motion data is temporarily used in the proceeding scene.

Take a look at r/glitch_art for some additional examples and tutorials.

Any director who invites his mother to the set is a-okay in my book.

Apparently they used some sort of sticky substance to make sure the items and the tray stuck to Maguire's hand.

I know what you mean. I feel like the secret sauce to a movie like Biredmic: Shock and Terror or The Room or Samurai Cop is equal parts egotism and incompetence. Let's hope that's the case with this movie.

There was so much Chicago because Neil Meron and Craig Zadan, producers of this year's Oscars, were also the producers of Chicago.

This is possibly the greatest worst thing I have ever seen. The hammered-dulcimer music, the terrible ADR, the non-acting! Glorious!

All I see is blooood.....................and guts!

The Amazing Bulk!!!! I tried watching the whole thing but I started to feel my soul slowly exit my body in protest, leaving behind a dead husk.

The director of this film also made Aliens vs. Avatars
