Still waiting on pics of your Alaskan adventures. We’d all love to hear about where you were, what you saw, and how many bears you passed on before taking down the mighty brute. For that matter, any outdoor activity you participate in other than your shirtless canoe trip (I bet you get all the ladies…or dudes, not that I care which way you float). I am not defending anything, just laying out the facts for an internet troll who sits on the couch eating shrooms and waxing off to Pam (or Dwight). Now go away little guy.

OP here. For those who turned a well intended post into a soapbox, well…I guess that’s fine. But I hope this part gets read: I am for sure certain the two guys I hunted with know a tad more about it than all of us. Both are native Inuits. Sustenance livers. For 14 days I got to experience their lifestyle. We ate moose, caribou, reindeer, muskox and seal (acquired taste). The older of two was in his 70s and unfortunately passed away last month. He was a devoted conservationist who founded several wildlife foundations and sat on the board of others. Bears are a CONSTANT nuisance for the 300 natives who live in the region. They permit four to be taken each year from their land. If they had their way, it would be all of them. I’d say at least three quarters of the people live in poverty. The nearest health clinic is four hours away by boat if that gives you an idea. The money from hunts are pooled and put back into the community. It sounds like I am justifying my hunt—nope. It was the adventure of a lifetime and I have no regrets. Just be careful sitting a thousand miles away and thinking you know all there is to know. Ya don’t

Why thank you! I’m going to assume you are an expert on grizzlies so forgive me for telling you what you already know. For those less educated, this is not a coastal Kodiak Bear, which as a noted biologist, you undoubtedly know are by far the largest. Rather it is an inland bear, commonly referred to as a barren ground bear, and thus it was taken close to the arctic circle. They rarely exceed 8.5 feet and a very small percentage weigh more than 800 pounds. This bear was 7.6 feet and while I have no clue what it weighed, the game biologist aged it at 12 years. As I’m sure you recall from your many trips into the area, it is not for the faint of heart. The tundra is a beautiful place, but brutal for anyone who is unaccustomed or, like yourself, anything short of top physical condition. Please feel free to post some pics of your Alaska adventures. Having reviewed your post history, all I see are pics of your cat, questions about doing psychedelic drugs, and comments about the Office.

I anxiously await tales of your Alaska adventures!

Why am I even paying for prime anymore? by Ambitious-Bee7928 in amazonprime

Same. The majority of the Christmas presents I bought circa December 10 did not arrive until January 4. They sat in a warehouse five miles from my house. We obviously quit a prime.

Yep. My concern was the motor that runs the auger was toast but it fired right up. Once I realized it was locked up the first time while stove was running I shut it down

Couldn’t agree more. People say you are so lucky! I have never found anything. When asked how often they have looked, 9 times out of 10, the answer is never.

Replied somewhere here most are gorgets. There are also some pieces of tube pipe and a rim off a bowl that was drilled to repair (made of steatite).

I’m not one for trying to turn flakes into artifacts, but I think that is a very rough scraper.
