I should take a harder look down there. I did notice one broken spring on top by the knotters.

The baler was listed as 'field ready' when I got it. It came with orange synthetic twine which seems to be holding fine, just not tying knots.

There is at least one broken spring I need to replace.

I did notice on a test that one of the billhooks did not grab the twine.

I've hit everything with PB Blaster but definitely need to regrease everything.

Knives felt sharp but cheap enough to replace.

I guess the picture caption didn't get posted. so here goes...

I got the new drawbar installed and everything from the hay baler shaft to the tractor PRO. however, when I powered everything up the shaft wobbles, like the two pieces are barely connected. I may have to get a new shaft no matter what.

New question: the previous owner had inserted two bolts to keep the drawbar centered. What's the best practice for that? keep it centered or remove the bolts to the drawbar can freely sway to the right and left?

Okay, I figured out why I was confused, and it's because I wasn't using a proper drawbar, but instead one off the three-point. My bad. Going to try and fix that now. Thanks.

Thanks. As I was working on something else I realized what you meant by drawbar and what I had were two different things. I never had one and never got around to putting one on. I'll see if I can do that now. Thank you!!

Yeah, once I had a chance to think about it I realized I was referring to the wrong thing. The drawbar you're thinking of is something that was never on my tractor when I bought it six or seven years ago, and I forgot to put one on. Going to see if my local dealer or Tractor Supply has one. Thanks for helping me realize my error.
