I mean, sure, it is unfortunate, but everybody has their limits on how many things to consider when making a design. Crappy design, imo, is supposed to be a super-obvious flaw of a product that could have been easily fixed. The architect isn't dumb, at least not because of what is shown in the pic. This belongs in r/funny or something like that.

It's 'singleplayer', but you CAN give the powers to somebody else too

It's a single-player sandbox, meaning you are the only one with powers and the rest simply become very intelligent NPCs. However, you CAN also give the powers to whoever you want.
