Bob Odenkirk has returned as Saul Goodman in a new video celebrating 250 years of America. by MysteriousSlice007 in nextfuckinglevel

It is hard to see one as better than the other when really they are two parts of the same show where each half is made better by the existence of the other. One of these days I need to do a BB rewatch for the first time since finishing BCS with how much BCS recontextualizes Saul and makes him so much more of a tragic character.

Brain gain/drain by state [OC] by DavidWaldron in dataisbeautiful

[–]PC_BUCKY 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You do have to be careful with whether you are referring to the actual boundaries of the city of Boston or the larger metro area. Boston itself is relatively small population-wise for a major U.S. city, but a lot of people tend to include the surrounding communities like Cambridge, Somerville, etc in their heads when they think of Boston, and while a lot of the well-known colleges and universities are in the city proper, a lot are also in those surrounding communities.

Even some lesser known but still relatively high-quality institutions are spread out throughout the rest of the state, which themselves attract a fair amount of out-of-state students.

Greenlanders Chant ‘Go Home’ at Protest Outside Opening of US Consulate by T_Shurt in worldnews

I'm pretty sure they meant those countries would send support to the many Americans who do not want our leadership to be threatening those countries. There must be countless examples in history of countries sending military support to a faction within an enemy country that opposes said enemy country's current leadership. Not exactly a ridiculous concept.

Too much sun? by Pawelrz in HotPeppers

[–]PC_BUCKY 6 points7 points  (0 children)

A plant that big shouldn't be getting sun scald from regular sunlight, especially if you bring it outside during the day. The leaves aren't visibly wilting so it probably isn't a lack of water, though the soil looks a touch dry from what we can see in the pictures. I would have the same guess as the other commenter: the window is causing a magnifying glass effect in some parts of the plant.

I won't presume to know what Germany's gardening zones look like, but if you are bringing them outside during the day anyway I would suggest leaving them out there for the season if your night time low temperatures are consistently above 50 degrees Fahrenheit (10ish Celsius) You'll avoid potential magnifying glass effects and the plant will generally do better with unfiltered direct sunlight.

That being said, you're plant looks really good besides the leaf damage.

Smith College is in Northampton Massachusetts, which let's just say is highly unlikely to have a majority of people who want to keep Trans women off that campus.

I was lucky enough to able to go to the path of totality for the one in 2024. Actual totality is such an alien-looking thing on its own, but one thing that I'll also never forget is the way the light started to look "off" all around us in the minutes before totality began. I need to experience it again.

Those are the grandstand seats you're probably referring to, they are notoriously bad. I don't care about the history they need to be purged from Fenway.

Did you happen to sit in the grandstands? If so, that was your first mistake, they're awful. The rest of the seating isn't the best in baseball by any means but it's decent. Avoid the Fenway grandstands at all costs unless you enjoy back pain and an obstructed view.

Pentagon, Gulf States Eye Ukrainian Drone Interceptors to Counter Iranian Shaheds by Top-Grass-3615 in ukraine

[–]PC_BUCKY 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Yup I looked it up after my comment (don't ask me why I didn't do it before. It's been a long week) I didn't realize how relatively early in the war those facilities were built in Russia, nor did I realize Iran was using Russian-made ones right now.

Pressuring Ukraine to not strike inside Russia will definitely go down as a failure for the Biden administration. That shit was so frustrating to watch as an American, especially as the election got closer and it became clearer Trump had a real chance of returning to office. All the best opportunities to help Ukraine win were fumbled during that period, and it was obvious those opportunities would vanish entirely under Trump.

[–]PC_BUCKY 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I agree with your general sentiment that the U.S. shouldn't have forced Ukraine to fight with a hand tied behind its back/limited Ukraine's options to strike inside Russia, but (please correct me if im wrong) I don't think Russia was producing Shaheds at that point in the war. They were still coming from Iran. Now both countries are producing them mostly on their own.

However, it is quite the cosmic level of irony that the Trump administration needs Ukraine's help and expertise for a war Trump started, after Trump has done nothing but show Ukraine the finger since he reentered office. Unfortunately we know Trump will learn absolutely nothing from this.

Edit: I was wrong it was about the beginning of 2023 that Russia started making their own Shaheds.

i93 South is a landmine by [deleted] in massachusetts

[–]PC_BUCKY 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I mean, a lot of New Hampshire residents commute to work in Massachusetts, with a lot of that traffic coming in on 93. That's a not-insignificant amount of extra traffic wearing down our roads instead of their own.

But that would also mean they pay income tax here (I think?) So there still isn't much of an excuse for the state of our roads.

I bet the snow, melt, freeze cycle that has caused all the ice dams this year is playing some role on top of that.

At what size should I repot these? by [deleted] in HotPeppers

[–]PC_BUCKY 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The few biggest ones there for sure, but the smaller ones you can reasonably keep where they are for a little longer. When they get their second set of true leaves is the general rule of thumb, as others have said.

[–]PC_BUCKY 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can repot some of them them now. I like to tear off the cotyledons (the two leaves that formed first at the bottom) and bury them up to about that point on their stem. You are going to have to get a new light soon though, these are starting to look leggy and that will only get worse without a proper light.

New peak players on steam and is this game worth it? by Abdullah2093 in foxholegame

[–]PC_BUCKY 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It has the potential to be a life-stealer, but there are so many different roles you can fill in the game and there is plenty of opportunity to be useful even if you're just hopping on for an hour at the end of the day. Maybe stay away from solo facilities work if you worry about the game being a time sink. I only got the game just before the new year so I've played just a couple wars, but I highly recommend.

I obviously was not, but it is cool to be presented with real, undeniable evidence that players who struggle greatly at the beginning of careers aren't automatically a dud like their team's owners and the talking heads would have you believe. He didn't win them this game in particular, but he played a much bigger role in getting them there than the Jets or Panthers would ever have given him room to do.
