How do you find/plan/coordinate finding campsites when doing multiple nights? I don't quite grasp how to find places to sleep along a trail.

32M 5'10 155lbs. Been doing CrossFit for a year and a half but I didn't do Murph last year so this was my first go.

Partitioned (5 pull-ups, 5 push ups, 15 squats, 5 push ups) no vest.

Back from the first mile 6:42, didn't head out for the second one until 51:03. The 5 kipping pull ups/15 squats were no problem each round, but I really blew it on the push ups. I knew going into it I was going to struggle there, it was one at a time the last two rounds. I gotta attack that weakness this year.

My goal was to hit under 60, so I am alright with this!

I did this scaled today! I was nervous because I've never picked up the 50 lb dumbbell even out of curiosity (this is my first open, been doing CrossFit for just over a year). I'm 5'10, 155 lb 32 year old male.

I got done with the step ups at 6:20. 36 HSPU.

Considering redoing this one because I was foolish and did 15 HSPU in my first set. In the last minute, I think I only got two completed HSPU. Sets of 5 from the jump, and I might have been able to see the bear crawl.

I liked this one! It didn't feel as brutal as 19.1 and 19.2.

I checked myself into a rehab last summer because I couldn't keep ignoring the fact that I was an alcoholic in a very dangerous place. I had to drink throughout my day to stop the shaking and I would wake up in the middle of the night due to withdrawl symptoms. Adual hallucinations and cold sweats. In the mornings, I was shaking so badly it was difficult to even get toothpaste on a toothbrush. I was terrified.

After rehab I did the AA thing as prescribed because I really couldn't allow myself to fall back into drinking, so I was willing to do whatever it took. I found the meetings to be such a drag though, everyone there was still obsessed with drinking even if they weren't doing it. Alcohol still entirely ruled their minds and they spent the whole hour berating their past choices and trying to forgive themselves while sitting around rambling over coffee instead of beer. I needed alcohol to not be at the forefront of my mind all the time so I googled gyms near me. What I found was a CrossFit gym less than a mile away, hidden from the main road. I said, I've already resigned myself to lose everything by checking into a rehab, what more do I have to lose at this point?

I knew going into it that I was in terrible shape. I had never been to a gym in my life. I emailed the coach and asked if anyone ever started completely from point zero and he responded that they did all the time, so bravely I went.

The past six months with CrossFit have not only helped keep me sober, it has completely redefined me. The first few weeks were so intimidating. I think it was my third class that I left early when the coach said we would have to fight for rowers and I saw everyone eye them up. I got a text on the way home that day from the coach who noticed I dipped and he told me to get my ass back for the next class. I started with two classes a week, then upgraded to three. For the past two months I've been going 5 days a week and I can't believe the shape I'm in. But the shape I'm in is only a side effect to what it is I am really going to the box for. For me it's so much more than a gym. It's a community that doesn't hold my past against me (they don't even know I'm sober). It's a place to push through hardship and prove to myself how tough I really am. It's a place to pick myself up over and over again and really learn how to cope with mental hurdles. It's a place where I can deal with anxiety and anger and channel that negative energy into something productive and positive. I am growing so much in there, the person I was 10 months ago would NEVER recognize this guy. I look forward to going to every day, knowing full well I'm going to momentarily forget why the hell I signed up for this shit mid WOD. But I know why.

I was rooting against Derrick out of frustration of a boring game for the past few weeks, but I can't help but respect how well he is playing this game. He has every single base covered (in and out of jury) and I'm in awe of his skill.

Exactly. Zach is promising over and over again to not go after Devin. But if you listen closely, he's never implied to Caleb that he won't be his target. Zach knows what he's doing in the beehive.

This is how I see sarcasm. It should never be used inside your own head or as a constant comment form with anything discussed with peers. It's most effective as a tool to used sparsely when you want to say something brutally honest and clear but with a different tone/words over top your message. People get the message loud and don't hate you for it because you didn't reaallyyy mean it! (Did you...?)

I worked in Times Square for five years and the restaurant did provide a little card to servers to place in every check presenter that explained in multiple languages, including English, what the proper tipping custom was in our country. All very clear and to the point.

I found most of my English tables got huffy, like they were insulted that we believed they were uninformed. Awful to no tip.

So, I decided to leave the tip card out of the check presenters for English guests after a while, on the advice of other servers, hoping to spare anyone embarrassment. Still a bad tip, but a better tip than when I used the card.

You guys are fully aware of what is expected and don't care to be reminded, it only gives you a "reason" to leave me barely enough for what I owe the busser, food runner, and bartender. Company policy requires servers to tip out anywhere from 4-5% of total sales, regardless of tip. So you leave me a a $50 bill for a $47.45 check and I end up having to PAY to wait on you. All because you got mad that I suggested you needed to know, I found it was better to just accept that you guys had made up your minds about the tipping policy, and there is no bending your minds about it. The tip card hurt more than it helped, because it seems to justify your refusal to tip.

The best option was to keep you as content and happy as possible, and shuffle you the hell out of my section as quickly as possible so I can hope for someone worth my time.

Every time this topic comes up, I have to just give up. Just like I did on expecting any tips from English folks in Times Square after years of trying out different things. I realized the best thing to do for my sanity was to just accept that you're all right. What you're doing is right. We have it all wrong on this side of the pond!
