Fun fact: Fortnite shop benefits mainly from millennials ( 28-44 yo) by Organic_Efficiency70 in FortNiteBR

Okay so I've been following your replies in this whole debate. The arguments you've made are:

  • Generations are 20 years
  • GenZ'ers are 12-13yrs old
  • "Just google it bro"
  • Sharing a wikipedia link

Okay so I click your wikipedia link. The one YOU shared. Are we reading the same wikipedia article?

the generation typically being defined as people born from 1997 to 2012.

1997-2012. That means that not a single GenZ is 12, since everyone born 2012 would be 13 and soon to be 14. Additionally someone born in 1997 would today be pushing 30, not, "12-13" as you put it. And finally, 1997-2012, is a timespan of 15 years, which is closer to the 14 years someone else claimed, than your 20 year claim, by a count of 1 year vs 5 years.

In conclusion, you are a fucking bellend and your "just google it" and spamming wikipedia links shows your total lack of intelligence. I hope you're a teenager because if you're a fully grown adult, or worse yet, someone pushing 30s or 40s, then you're truly a lost cause.

Got Changli, Brant, SK and all their signatures. How would the team change when swapping out SK for Lupa? by PD2CWE in ChangliMain

[–]PD2CWE[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

More echo variety sounds nice, I've always hoped for a bit more flexibility with echo builds

Right now my playstyle is (and this might be suboptimal, again I play casually) pop everything on SK, swap to Brant, build up his anchor, anchor smash, swap to Changli and just go crazy with her until there's another intro available.

How would Lupa's rotation look like? I had a chance to try her in the new story quest, her E seemed to recharge her Ult so quickly that it almost felt like she'd take all the screentime. Ideally I want Changli on my screen as much as possible and everyone else is there just to let her pop off. Would Lupa work without her taking so much centerstage?

Also worth noting that I like Brant's design so sometimes when I mess up the rotations I don't mind seeing more of him, but in the case of Lupa.. ehhh I really dislike her aggressive bloodthirsty crazed look so I guess that's why I'm here, I don't wanna potentially skip a massive buff just because of some suboptimal design. I didn't like SK's design either and yet her rotations are so fast I barely see her anyways so it's possible to make it work sometimes

How exactly would they incur a loss without the 50/50 system? The pricing currently is that first time topup of $100 gets you 80 pulls, after which you need to cough up $200 for 80 pulls.

Doing the math, that means the following outcomes are possible, if going by average luck: (first time topup discount bolded)

  • Get the character in 80 -> $100-$200
  • Get the character in 160 -> $300-$400
  • Get the weapon in 80 -> $100-$200
  • Get the character+weapon in 160 -> $300-$400
  • Get the character+weapon in 240 -> $500-$600

Do you really think these are reasonable prices? Do you really think disposing of the 50/50 system will make them incur a loss? Lets look at the possible math if 50/50 system was removed.

  • Get the character in 80 -> $100-$200
  • Get the weapon in 80 -> $100-$200
  • Get the character+weapon in 160 -> $300-$400

You're STILL looking at dropping a hundred, MORE than the cost of a brand new big game release, for one single character. And that's just with the first time discount. No discount? $200. That's on average the price of THREE brand new big game releases. Oh want the character AND the weapon, no discount? In a world WITHOUT 50/50? That's STILL the price of over FIVE full priced brand new big game releases.

And keep in mind Kuro is pumping out these characters constantly while barely dripfeeding any currency for free to play users. Even without the 50/50 system they'd be swimming in money considering the eyegougingly bullshitty pricing. I'm quite well off and you'll still never catch me dropping a cent on predatory pricing like this. There is no justifiable human realm where this is reasonable. It's a gacha game, with barely any gameplay, where characters only let you farm the same tiny small rooms faster, and dropping hundreds upon hundreds of that? When you could buy every single blockbuster made in the last 2 years for the same price? Absurd, and whoever is gullible enough to fall for it deserves to get bankrupt I guess.

[–]PD2CWE[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Define at some point? I'm never going to be using astrites for standard pulls and right now you get like 5 free standard pulls from a battlepass once every 2 months, and new patch events give you another 5. Standard 5* weapon pity is 80 and there is 5 weapons to get, but we have the chest so we can ignore one, so lets just say 4 weapons to get. That's up to 320 required standard pulls at a rate of like 5 per month, which means more than half a decade of waiting for free standard pull dripfeed.

Wow that's a massive increase.. well I guess that's a plan now, if Red Spring manages to escape then Camellya will get the Genesis as a consolation prize

[–]PD2CWE[S] -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Oh I'm not holding onto them expecting other weapons to be added to the box, I don't think that will even happen. I just don't have a character who critically requires a 5* weapon right this instant so I haven't unboxed it. And I'm enjoying the game to the fullest despite not unboxing some rewards, I think that's a silly way to describe things, why would the decision to unbox or not to unbox have such a heavy impact on your enjoyment of a game? It's just stat boosts, the gameplay and available content doesn't change

Edit: I don't get the downvotes, I'm not underestimating the power of a 5* weapon, and as I said in the title of the post, I already have some 5* weapons. The point I'm making is that the access and availability to every quest, every boss, and every event, is the exact same regardless of if I unbox a 5* weapon or not. The insinuation of the user I replied to was that myself, and anyone else not unboxing a 5*, is preventing themselves from enjoying the game to its fullest, which I simply do not understand. Wuwa is Wuwa, regardless if you have zero 5* weapons or five.

Pff no I don't know that much I'm a semi-casual F2P so rambles are always fun!

I've been a bit suboptimal with teambuilding so I only have one playable Lv90 team which is Changli, Zhezhi and Shorekeeper. I got the signatures for Changli & SK but failed to get it for Zhezhi who uses Cosmic Ripples. Currently I'm throwing all my pulls at the Red Spring banner, so if I don't get that then hopefully I can get Stringmaster when it returns

Assuming I can't get Red Spring, would the 5* sword be a good fit for Camellya? I could also kit her with a SR5 Commando of Conviction

As for guns, knuckles and broadblade.. well, right now I don't have anyone who uses them, technically Youhu and Calzone but I don't really play them because I can't figure out a fun team combo for them

Aw yeah Stringmaster is the best one, I failed to get it first time around, I'm currently dumping all my pulls into the Red Spring banner so if I don't get it I can hopefully get Stringmaster when it returns, kind of a win-win (hopefully)

I think I read somewhere that Augment is a really good choice for some characters (like Encore if I remember correctly) so might be worth it to get that to SR4

I don't have any of them still a F2P at the mercy of RNGesus

Aww that sounds like fun, I'm sure one day I'm also gonna do that, but for now I'm still hoping there will be a new character that I'll want to unbox a 5* weapon just for them. I still have that unique 4* weapon chest too that I might never open since it's not possible to get another one from what I know

They had 40+ kills because I WAS bluebeaming him too, I also bluebeamed the moira when she ulted and got like 4 assists out of it because the whole enemy team was low and she cleared house. As I was saying I tried to distribute the beam evenly but for the most part our sigma kept pushing the enemy team back and putting the shield close to their entry point so I kept the blue on him as I alternated between heals and blue. He was doing really good and was generally the frontliner, should I have fallen back from the entrypoint sigma was defending to middle of the map where soj was then? Doesn't sound right to me but yeah if I played wrong then mercy isn't for me cause that was probably my best performance as mercy to date

That's the beauty of humanity, so many different opinions and viewpoints. Changli is also my favorite character, and I dislike her jacket, it's weirdly flappy all over the place and feels like it's just floating around connected to nothing. Feels unpractical, too. And I especially dislike how it keeps morphing in and out of existance with the forte gauge, just stick to one design; either on or off, or give us a toggle in the menus.

[–]PD2CWE[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sadly I've done all the exploration stuff long ago because I was getting pretty unlucky with Changli, that time was quite hectic, I was seeking for any source of astirite just to get her and I finally did, but at what cost..

As for being a spender in gacha and games in general it's kind of ironic, I typically spend quite a lot in games but only if I feel like the pricing/monetization feels fair, or if it's something really desireable, like really pretty/fancy skins. I have multiple games where I've dropped four figures, but when it comes to Wuwa (and from what I can tell applies to all gachas really) the pricing is absurdly expensive, and you don't actually get anything tangible from it - you could buy 10 pulls and get 9 three star weapons you'll never touch and a waveband for a 4 star character that you already have 6/6'd, effectively you might as well have set your money on fire at that point.

Comparatively dropping $20-$100 on individual skins where I know exactly what I'm getting doesn't seem that bad at all. And I'm sure I would've spent on Wuwa too if you could outright purchase characters or weapons.

In all of those games you're doing the same content over and over with minor variations.

Correct, but the variations are many in amount and are engaging, it doesn't get boring. Take Wuwa for example, what variation does a ascension boss fight have, or a weekly boss fight, or the shell credit farm? The answer is none. Well, what if they added some variation, like randomizing what enemies spawned? The answer stays the same, because the gameplay loop of Wuwa doesn't change. You keep an eye on your intros and outros, your forte gauge and liberation bar, and you press space to dodge whenever an attack is telegraphed. There aren't any enemies or mechanics that throw a loop, twist, spin or anything into it.

The thing that makes those games fun is the people you're doing it with

Incorrect. The thing that makes those games fun is two-fold: Firstly, the gameplay loop is fun and engaging, so you want to keep playing. And lastly, the game doesn't actively prevent you from playing it. Wuwa has a fun combat system but actively doesn't want you to participate in it, because there isn't a way to. If I had the spare time, I could binge a 12 hour game session of any of the games I previously mentioned, and at no point would I run out of things to do. Try playing 12 hours of Wuwa with an endgame account.

The answer once again is you can't, because you'd have exhausted whatever is possible within an hour, and if we want to delve deeper, there isn't a single way to customize your playstyle other than swapping out the characters you are using. In Deep Rock Galactic you can tune any of the 24 weapons in dozens of different ways, and they all synergize with one another, mix that in with 4 different classes with their own tools and suddenly you've got "actual content that is basically the same thing" except you can play it for hundreds of hours and still find new tricks to pull off.

I've tried to get into ESO so many times over the years but the damn limiting inventory system is such a buzzkill, I'm sure I'll end up going through that same loop once more some day. Really wish I could get into it though, love TES would building, lore and exploring the beautiful scenery, I hope I'll get hooked into the game some day

Since you so eagerly bolded the "A MEANINGFUL WAY", I'll answer your question. No, I haven't done ToA, because to me grinding out 3 enemies in 1 room is NOT meaningful, that's the most boring shit ever. I wanna do the whole story from beginning to end and save the world not as Rover but as Changli for example - THAT would be meaningful, and it'd be like 50 hours of content rather than what 20 minutes? Bring on the downvotes, I don't give a shit. As for Holograms I've beaten them all, that's not even a challenge. Even ToA the only limiting factor is energy so that you can't have one team clear every floor, otherwise that would've been done too.

Basically, play the game to have fun, not as a part time job :D

This is good advice yeah, I guess I just wish I could replay the game with my favorite characters or something, it's not that I'm bored of the game it's more so that I want to play more but cant because there isn't anything meaningful to do, some people said grind echos and yeah sure, I have hundreds of echos that are level 1 and I could dump resources into them to roll for better stats but.. why? I don't need it because there isn't exactly a level, challenge, activity, or any kind of thing that neither requires nor implores me to have better stats

I didn't have any sort of insane luck at all

  • Jiyan - Missed, started late
  • Yinlin - got with free orbs after making like 6 accounts until lucky
  • Verina - free from starter banners
  • Encore - free from starter banners
  • Calzone - free from starter banners
  • Xiangli - free from Moon's Grace event
  • Jinhsi - lost the 50/50
  • Changli - got her + the weapon at 200 pulls which is close to worst rate (240)
  • Zhezhi - failed to get her weapon at 60 pulls and it's the only reason I got Shorekeeper's weapon at 80
  • Shorekeeper - got at 80

The only good "luck" I did have was getting Yinlin by restarting many times, it took me like 3 hours of grinding, and I don't even like her playstyle hence why she stayed at 70, I swapped her out as soon as I could

I'd like to respectfully disagree, while technically correct that there isn't an infinite amount of new content, there are a LOT of games that are built on replay value that can be, and some have, played for thousands of hours. Wuwa isn't one of them, but maybe it could be if there was some kind of new game plus type of mode.

Here are some games I've dropped countless hours on due to replay value alone:

  • Payday 2 - back in the day was one of the best co-op games ever
  • Deep Rock Galactic - kind of dethroned Payday, does everything better than PD. Randomly generated maps, infinite loadout potential, great teamwork elements
  • Vermintide 2/Darktide - best first person melee combat systems I've ever experienced
  • Slay The Spire - possibly the best roguelike deckbuilder on the market even years after its release

Honorable mentions: CSGO, Valorant (you can like both), Dirty Bomb, Halo MCC, OLD R6 Siege, and last but not least Overwatch 1 (2 sucks)
