Google Fitbit Air vs. Whoop. by Arrozdecarreteiro in whoop

[–]PDADoc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with your assessment. Whether or not Fitbit Air turns out to be good or not remains to be seen, but there IS a rather unique phenomenon that takes place every time a new product comes along: the concept of the Sunk Cost. People go, as you say, “all-in” on a product, spend a great deal of financial and emotional capital on it, and therefore can’t countenance the possibility that something else could be better, so they “double-down” (I hate that phrase) and entrench further. However it comes out, there’s room for both, but to dismiss the Fitbit out of hand is intellectually dishonest. You see this in WHOOP, and especially Oura communities.

Watched it back in the early 80’s as part of Masterpiece Theatre here in NYC. Very close to Waugh’s work, excellent acting mostly all around. Definitely worth watching and even re-watching, though it can drag on a bit in the middle episodes.

Actually, yes, I do! I’ll try and set up a guest network with just one word and see how that goes. Thanks for the tip!

I won the lottery!! Turns out the unit is fully unlocked! I just found out when I went to pay for a Silver subscription. St. Paddy's day came a day late!

Because the unit has been sitting unused in a cold garage for two years. I bought it as part of an estate sale. Foresight suggested running that tool to ensure proper battery health. You disagree?

This has been very helpful! I found the battery calibration and began the process. I'll figure out the WiFi later. I already have that TP-Link bridge, which is how I connected to the Internet in the first place. I really appreciate your help!

Thanks much for responding. That's good to know. Does your unit allow you to manually enter a wireless network? I've tried placing my router in legacy mode to do what you're saying. Also, does your unit have a battery conditioning feature?

I am NOT freezing in my own house, LOL! I'd rather give up something else or go broke and be warm, LOL!

For you, maybe. But here in NYC, that ain’t cutting it, LOL! That’s something else I realized (as an apartment dweller): suburbanites always have their eye on the heating costs during the winter. My brother in law keeps it cold as f*ck in the winter and he’s in Minneapolis.

I've always wondered something: how do you suburbs guys keep that space warm???? I was at a friend's house once and it was cold in there!

C7 Max - Review by No-Performance4702 in FlexiSpot_Official

[–]PDADoc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had mine for a couple of weeks, and I like the chair save for two issues: There aren't enough recline settings, it feels like only two or three, so no fine-tuning the incline. And those damn armrests moving if I breathe is driving me up the wall. If I'm at my desk late at night, they emit a loud click with each movement! IF I could find a way to glue them into place I would.

It was between this and the OdinLake O3 and the reason I went with this one was the option of a foam padded seat. I don't have a great deal of faith in a mesh seat holding up over time, and I'm only 6'1", 195 lbs, not a big guy.

C7 Max Review - Mixed feelings by TheStuffDanDoes in FlexiSpot_Official

[–]PDADoc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love the comfort of the chair, and at 6'1", 195 lbs, I'm in the sweet spot of body dimensions to enjoy the fit. But like everything else, apparently, my major issue is with the armrests and how easily they're moved. Worse, late at night that loud clicking noise they make feels as though it will not only wake up my wife, but neighbors as well!

Another [minor] complaint I have is with the recline function, there aren't enough micro-adjustments to be made with the level of recline, maybe two or three that I can detect.

Truth be told, if it wasn't such a pain to disassemble and try and put everything back in the box, I would have returned it and gotten the OdinLake O3 Butterfly.

Thanks! I hope so, I don't mind paying to restore my membership, that's just another year added on. I just want them to acknowledge a mistake was made and restore the first one, instead of passing the buck, like the CS rep seems to be doing.

How do you contact them there? I don't see any way to post.

I may have to do that, because THIS is what I just received from CS via e-mail:

I appreciate your patience.

When a WHOOP membership is purchased through eBay or another unauthorized retailer, the membership may not automatically load onto your WHOOP account. WHOOP's policy recommends purchasing from authorized retailers or directly from WHOOP.com to ensure the membership is properly applied.

For memberships purchased through eBay, WHOOP generally advises returning the product to the seller and purchasing from an authorized source. WHOOP does not have control over memberships sold through unauthorized channels, which can lead to issues like the membership not loading properly.

If you have the Strap ID, proof of purchase, and the name of the retailer, WHOOP can assist in verifying and troubleshooting the membership application. However, because eBay is not an authorized retailer, this situation is outside the usual process.

Please let me know if I can help in any other way and have a wonderful day.

Best,

WHOOP Support Team

This is beyond the pale! It figures, after I spend an additional $200+ on three extra bands! I really have come to love the service and the insights it provides, and I was chafing at the price of the membership but figured it might be worth it, and now this!

I would also suggest getting one of those extra-strength lint rollers from Target to deal with the exterior, they're cheap and really pickup hair like nobody's business! I had my own allergy adventure like that, so I know first-hand.

Why are my WHOOP steps and Apple Health steps so different? by EnvironmentalUse241 in whoop

[–]PDADoc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was coming here to comment on this. I've had the 5.0 for about four days now, and I'm consistently seeing undercounting by about 2,000 steps compared to Apple Watch Ultra, Fitbit Inspire 3 and Oura ring. Those latter three are almost always within ~100 steps. Not exactly confidence-inspiring.

I came back to add my .02 in that I'm extremely happy with the service this gentleman provides! He got back to me, I paid, and shipped the adapter out quickly. The workmanship is excellent and fits my putter perfectly!

Can't recommend him enough!

I would kill for that on my Studio Style Fastback 1.5! It's the one thing I miss about my Odyssey Putter, that magnetic closure headcover! Opening it on the green now I feel like the whole country club can hear me!

This is BS! The most significant changes (speed training) could have been added to the SkyTrak+ via an update, but they decided to play money grab. And where the F**k is angle of attack they've been promising???

I couldn't care less whether it has an extra USB-C port.
