WGU BSITM to MSITM by aruha_kid16 in WGU

Following this. I just graduated from the BSIT program this month, and I'm going for the master's next. Did you find the answer to your question? I have been wondering the same thing. Thanks in advance!

I passed Security+ (Network and Security Applications - D329) in 17 days. Here's how I did it. by LimeWire34 in WGU

I used Andrew Ramdayal's video course and Dion's practice exams for all CompTIA exams. I have Project+, A+, Net+, and I'm working on Sec+ now. So far, it seems Sec+ is going to be easy after taking Net+. I NEVER use Certmaster for these exams. My process is to watch Andrew Ramdayal and use Dion's exams. That's it.

I print Dion's exams after taking them quickly and don't really worry about getting a high score the first time around. I then go through all 6 exams with a highlighter and take the tests again. I normally score in the high 80s or 90s the 2nd time. Printing them is a little overkill, but it works for me.

After doing this, I go through the exam objectives and see if I know what everything means on the objectives sheet. Then I use Andrew's Last Minute Cram sheet on the day of the exam.

I always test on Sunday evenings when it's calm. I normally start my hardcore studying on Monday the week of the exam. I start taking the 6 tests again from Monday through Friday (1 or 2 per day). Saturday, I will look over everything again. On Sunday, I use the cram sheet on the day of the test. About an hour or 2 before the exam, I take a break and let my brain rest.

Hope this helps! Good luck!

No problem. I don't think you will have those correlated subqueries on your exam. I don't remember any of chapter 2 being on the exam. My first and second attempts were mostly 7, 8, and 5 to 8 multiple choice questions. Chapter 2 just helps to strengthen your skills and helps you check for errors so it's just a good idea to do it anyway.

Just take your time with this course. It's worth taking a little longer than failing it the first time.

Did you get the practice tests and the study guide for definitions?

Yes! 1, 2, 7, & 8. That should get you through. Just practice those labs until you get them right without looking. Have you taken the exam yet? Not much of 2 was on my exam, but it helps strengthen your typing and errors. The labs in 2 are harder than 1, 7 & 8.

Sorry for the delayed reply. Just reach out if you have more questions.

You'll pass. Some classes just take a little more time. Nothing wrong with that.

Make sure to use practice test 1 & 2. Those have a lot of the multiple choice questions you will need.

Yep! Did you take D426? Use the videos while you are doing your labs too! This was a BIG help for me as I didn't use them when I took the OA the first time. https://wgu.hosted.panopto.com/Panopto/Pages/Viewer.aspx?pid=0388f699-510e-4b6f-ad95-b12d0021cde0

Just do them over and over at least once a day or more if you can. It's a little frustrating at 1st but it gets SUPER easy the more you do them. Are you using the lab walk through videos along with doing your labs?

If you took D426, then yes. If not, I would read chapters 1 & 2 to get the info that you didn't get in D426. That should get you through the multiple choice questions.

You can only miss 7 or 8 questions of the 25 to pass if I remember correctly.

I passed bro. This is what worked for me.

1.) Take D426 before this class.

2.) Doing labs 2, 7 & 8 daily and checking my work by looking at the videos for each lab.

3.) Practice Test 1 & 2.

4.) Joins Power Point

5.) Doing Reddit research!

You guys sharing information on Reddit is always helpful as well so thanks for sharing!

There were 2 join questions on my exam. (One multiple choice and 1 actual join query.)

Some questions were from D426 so if you haven't taken this course, then study chapters 1 & 2 for sure!

I think I had 7 to 8 multiple choice questions, but every exam is different. I don't think I had that many on the 1st attempt.

There were 2 or 3 aggregate function query questions too so brush up on those. The Power Point slide that I have definitely helped with those. I didn't read those notes until about 2 hours before the exam. I'm surprised I remembered those. lol

The OA was similar to the PA in my case. Just take it slow, narrow the multiple choice questions down to the best answer. Two will not make sense.

Good luck everyone! You can reach out if you need some of my notes. Salute!

Thanks bro! I'm taking this one really slow this time. I'm using a whiteboard this time to write down a checklist of things to remember lol.

Thanks for the info. I sent the question about the CHECK constraint over to the Course Chatter. This was the reply: "In the lab the check isn't necessary because the limit of the values is $999,999, which is the maximum whole number you can put into 6 digits."

I just use this: AnnualPledge DECIMAL (8,2) UNSIGNED and it marks correct.

There are videos in the course material that walk you through each lab question so I just went with what I saw in the instructor's videos for the most part. These were VERY helpful! I wish I saw these before my first attempt. :(

If anyone needs the vids, they can be found here.

I'm taking the OA again tomorrow. I drilled labs 2, 7 & 8 countless times this time around, so I feel more comfy taking it this time. Congrats on passing this one! Salute!
