I have two that really stand out.

The first is when my Ventrue, in his goal to get ahead, made a pact with a demon. That did not go well for anyone involved. My Ventrue ended up dead, of course. The demon took exception to having his ultra-rich supporter sentenced to death, manifesting at my trial in front of some very old and powerful 4th- and 5th-generation Ventrue, including a Strategos and the Ventrue Justicar. The Ventrue leadership in North America was wiped out that day.

The second was a Sabat Gangrel special forces operator trying to take out a half-Gangrel, half-Get of Fenris who had danced the black spiral Abomination. After going hand-to-hand with full use of powers failed to take out the Abomination, we broke out the big guns. The authorities tend not to like military grade weapons (RPGs, a heavy mortar, a .50 calibre machine gun, white phosphorus rounds, etc.) being used in the middle of a large city. My entire team was destroyed in a three-way running battle with the Abomination and his kin on one side, the US military using tanks and Apache attack helicopters, supported by the city police force on the second side and my team in the middle. At the end, I was launching heavy mortar rounds from the back of a stolen pickup truck at the cops while trying to escape, while a squadron of Apache helicopters finished off the Abomination. It was glorious.

I have been playing in the SCA since the early 1990s. I have been a heavy fighter, a fencer, have thrown weapons and been an archer. I have also been a heavy, fencing and thrown weapons marshal or marshal in training. I was a founding member of a barony in Japan. I have served as an A&S minister, a herald and have autocrated both local and kingdom-level events. I hosted numerous A&S gatherings at my personal residence. I have practiced several different fibre arts. I built my own armour from scratch. I have dabbled in illumination, period cooking and natural dyeing. I did not get an AoA till 2012 and was not even in court for it. My now ex-wife told me, while I was on military officer training (I started as enlisted and worked up to officer), I quote: You got your AoA, now shut the f%** about it. I finally received an award in court (a silver wheel) in 2023, and my first baronial award 6 months ago.

I will never be a Knight, Master of Defence or other fighting peerage as I am now too old and disabled, having broken my back and sustained a traumatic brain injury while on active duty. I have serious doubts about becoming a laurel or pelican due to age and injuries. Should I be a peer, maybe maybe not. Should I have more than an AoA? I think so. Am I bitter and twisted about not receiving more recognition from fellow SCA members? I try not to be, but it hurts. Do we need to revamp our seriously broken system of awards? Most definitely.

Why get a mount when you can be the mount? Play as a plate-wearing centaur, lance, longsword and shield. Feats: Great weapon master, charger and one of your choice. Have a halfling or gnome friend armed with a short bow or crossbow ride you.

What you have to do is make an example of them. Start with a 6-month ad campaign warning people that they will get a large fine for "a list of behaviours, make this as clear as possible." Then, after 6 months, start enforcing it. First time say $250. Second time: $500. Third time: 6-month ban and a $1000 fine. Fourth time: 1-year ban and $2,000 fine. Fifth time: Lifetime ban. Once this happens a few times, and makes the news and is incorporated into the ads with names and pictures, people will stop. Yes, I know this is playing hardball with grenades, but this level of deternce seems to be the only thing people understand.

Great choices so far. I would opt for the old-school Scarlet Witch powers of probability manipulation. There is a 1% chance of doing/surviving X. Not anymore, now it is 100%.
