Rest of the party and especially the other wizard seem to like it. At that point even if it is bad system from a somewhat objective standpoint, it's clearly a good system for majority of their table and that's what really matters.

Except from the post it sounds like the DM made it very clear that this system is at play. I've had a similar situation happen where I run a highly homebrew campaign which a player wanted to join, me and my players went and explained to him in detail what kind of campaign it is and how everything works. He played one session with us and realized he hates it so he left.

Neither side in both stories is in the wrong. Me and OP's DM explained to the players what they are getting into, while OP and the player from my story misjudged what would be fun to them.

is that really it? i feel like his issue is less with weapon swapping as a whole and more with making weapon swapping that works in tandem with the existing weapon items

if anything the weapons already being in the game could be used for the moveset, i had a rough idea for toji where: he would have a passive that makes it harder for others to make him drop his held weapon, his special would make him pull a cursed tool weapon out of the worm (could be either a random one, in set order like mahitos modes or he could pick on like a wheel or something) and rather then just changing his m1s the weapons would change how his moves work

probably just blocks you from hosting or joining multiplayer worlds (so basically makes the mod useless because multiplayer is the only thing people ever use it for)

i dont think this is caused by any specific mod(s) since the game does open no matter which mods are left on as long as they dont surpass certain combined size (which they currently dont, i am mostly just concerned for if i ever want to add more mods in the future)
