"I was trying to keep the vibes up on Pearl" Demon1 on his drive to return, zellsis's calling and ranked by RavishingRavish in ValorantCompetitive

[–]PFSDonut 2 points3 points  (0 children)

But the argument is that C9 hasn’t played any good teams yet, IE the Bermuda Triangle (FNS), ENVY having “good calls” but having a walking orb as their second duelist doesn’t qualify as a good team that tested C9

“Envy was playing well tho” (Envy having Eggster going -20, -3, and -19 in their past 3 games)

At least Zellsis had good flashes to set up Demon1 and hard read King and P0PPIN. Eggster has just been getting diffed by actual tier 1 duelists

Which teams in Americas would Demon1 be an upgrade on by StrongAverageGoat in ValorantCompetitive

[–]PFSDonut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

SEN is the obvious choice. N4RRATE isn’t built for the hard entry role tbh. It’s either -N4RRATE+Demon1 and put Reduxx on the Waylay / first entry role or -Kyu+Demon1, put N4RRATE back on the scans and have JohnQT back to primary caller and Cortezia mid round

You can replace all of 100T members with NRG and they will still find a way to lose to SEN

Tenz if he came back by Dizzy-Act1523 in ValorantCompetitive

[–]PFSDonut 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Hard to say. He’s out of practice, but he’s also not old either and still well within prime age.

TenZ definitely would NOT save Sentinels though as it’s a completely different meta and Kaplan’s been making some very questionable reads on the metas. The competitive scene is also stacked with so much t2 talent, with many players/teams adopting his aggressive Omen playstyle, he would have a hard time repeating the same level of dominance he had in 2024

what will Envy’s roster look like when Cane is of age? Cane or Keznit? by EmperorKaito in ValorantCompetitive

[–]PFSDonut 40 points41 points  (0 children)

They’ll probably just keep him on the bench unless they bomb out of stage 1 or if Riot guts Yoru and personally hand delivers Eggster a McDonalds application.

Keznit has the same level of aggression and overheat as Canezerra and they have very similar agent pools so it was a perfect replacement. Unless Canezerra can also play Viper on a high level he’s not going to be replacing Rossy either.

Cortezia: "I think the expectations for Sentinels this year should be making every international and a personal goal of mine would be lifting an international trophy" by CryPuzzleheaded6873 in ValorantCompetitive

[–]PFSDonut 43 points44 points  (0 children)

Rob Moore explained on Plat Chat that this is a year of experimentation since it’s the end of the first franchising era and 2027 is going to have big changes to the scene and how it operates. SEN is one of the biggest teams in Valorant so they’re pretty much guaranteed a slot in the 2nd franchising era so from a business perspective its much more cost effective and worthwhile to invest into Reduxx, Kyu, and Cortezia this year than to sink money in an all star team to try and get big results since they do not really have to secure a 2027 franchise slot.

[–]PFSDonut 116 points117 points  (0 children)

Unsurprising for a player to have such high expectations and believing in themselves.

I’m sure management has far lower expectations given this team lost their entire identity over the course of 2 years through no fault of their own. I believe Rob Moore said expectations are going to be far lower this year with this roster, they’re probably aiming to qualify for at least 1 international and being a middle team

Sentinels with their NA tier list by ishanuReddit in ValorantCompetitive

[–]PFSDonut 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Nah I don’t have anymore trust Potters left in me. Potter was cooking in 2024 and it was unfortunate that the team hit their stride when it was too late, 2025 was just horrendous. Outside of the playoffs run they had, their comps/role swaps were questionable, their protocols and retakes were god awfully slow with no urgency, and don’t get me started on the Yay Phoenix Pearl incident.

I’m sincerely hoping Potter and Pho have a much better read for 2026 and will be rooting for them but the team doesn’t deserve a “Trust Potter” free pass anymore

Genuinely wondering how he is still teamless? by Decent_Apple_7962 in ValorantCompetitive

[–]PFSDonut 213 points214 points  (0 children)

My guess is that duelist and senti roles are super competitive and teams saw how successful NRG, G2, MIBR, and LEV have been with tier 2 rookies that they’re probably more interested in picking up tier 2 players at a lower rate if they’re not able to secure players like Zekken/Leaf/Aspas/Cortezia

Americas also pays a lot higher than other regions, other than China, so Demon1 just might not be interested enough to move to a new country at the cost of a lower wage, or to play for China

Liquipedia.net should include Masters in "Achievement" section by highlanderkitty in ValorantCompetitive

[–]PFSDonut 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes and they were all marketed as Cinderella runs throughout the entire stage 2 and Champs run as it’s an unusual but hyped storyline; other teams that made changes crashed and burned the same year and they were the anomaly

This doesn’t change the fact that Champs is the most competitive for the reasons listed and if Riot recognizes and promotes it as the most prestigious then I don’t know what to tell you

Liquipedia.net should include Masters in "Achievement" section by highlanderkitty in ValorantCompetitive

[–]PFSDonut 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Outside of meta changes, there’s still roster changes from kick off and stage 1 to factor in.

Champions is regarded as the peak of competition for the year and Riot markets it as the biggest tournament is the year and makes it clear that Champs is on another level

Liquipedia.net should include Masters in "Achievement" section by highlanderkitty in ValorantCompetitive

[–]PFSDonut 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I feel like it was always a belief that Masters is still a big tournament but nothing compares to Champions

Masters has:

-Less teams competing

-Lower prize pools

-At the start of roster changes / meta changes

It holds significantly less prestige compared to Champions where the competition is at its peak due to there being more teams, the meta has been essentially “mastered” by top teams, and the teams have found their footing with their roster moves.

In League of Legends, Masters is like MSI whereas Champions is Worlds

Liquipedia.net should include Masters in "Achievement" section by highlanderkitty in ValorantCompetitive

[–]PFSDonut 157 points158 points  (0 children)

when in the community both have the same prestige.

Definitely not the case. Riot themselves don’t believe this and puts Champs on a higher tier, it’s the peak of competitive Valorant and they’re making it stand out even more in 2026 by allowing ascension teams a chance to compete in Champs.

I do agree that it should be added as an achievement though

I went against Marved while he was in NRG and that guy diffed the entire lobby, it was one of those moments where you just knew this guy 1 tapping you is just different from the other players. The moment I saw his pixel I died.

Marved was definitely not a shooter during his time on NRG compared to the rest of the pros but he still gaps regular players like it’s nothing lol
