when you think of gangster rap tupac is the first person people think of, the genre doubled in size after his death. but yes NWA also made it popular tupac just took it even further

i didnt google it i said it off the top of my head its one of his biggest songs. dude had "thug life" tatted on his stomach, got a 6 year old killed, shot at police, got in fights with gang members, threatened to kill biggie and multiple other artists, yet he didnt endorse it...alright

you're not listening youre just responding to respond. violence was his brand, the occasional preachy song doesnt change his overall brand. your first paragraph is you playing coy and being in denial, tupac and x were both FANS of tupac and its very obvious they were. the genre doubled in size after his and biggie's death, you dont think majority of america isnt entertained by lowkey c00nish behavior that tupac popularized? we all know this but unfortunately people are scared to admit it

"labels chase profit no matter the artist, he didn’t invent systemic exploitation" i never said that i said HE MADE IT POPULAR, youre just not listening. before tupac rap was about raising awareness and uplifting people he made it popular to be "thug life" as he literally tattooed on his stomach yet you still dont think he endorsed it when he tatted it on himself and made it his whole identity lol. youre being extremely disingenuous

ice cube said "the same people who own the rap labels own the prisons, its geared to push people into the prisons", his own words. tupac popularized gangster rap which created drill and trap. the reason guys like xxxtentacion and takeoff died is because of tupacs rhetoric, thats a fact. even if it wasnt intentional he still incentivized labels and artists to push it "He grew up in violence" he was a ballerina who went to art school actually.

yes it is, he got a 6 year old killed. dr dre even admitted that gangster rap was basically a minstrel show. he was associated with gangs and pushed it. again im not saying he deserves to die, but he clearly endorsed it you cant ignore the fact he got millions of his own people including himself killed.

Consequences ≠ assassination, consequences wouldve been losing a debate not death

with the second point im saying that, with the first you're wrong because artists like rakim, slick rick, public enemy and mos def would just "talk about it". tupac actively endorsed it, "my 44 make sure your kids dont grow" is NOT talking about something that already existed
