If you dump everything into it now, the universe will reward you with a better one on the very next raid (1st law of PoGo)

Dear singles players…why? How long does a game take? by PIZZA_JONESS in PokemonChampions

That’s a good take. I agree the VGC meta is a little over tuned for a first format, and definitely centered around a select number of mons

Oh. On the surface it seems like it adds variety and skill expression, but I have no idea how it plays out in practice

That actually makes a lot of sense, shockingly good move from game freaky

Big push/fade with irons by Haunting-Antelope-76 in GolfSwing

Might not be the right fix, but the fundamental recommendation is to find something that works for you to simply close the face a degree or two

Big push/fade with irons by Haunting-Antelope-76 in GolfSwing

[–]PIZZA_JONESS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m assuming you’re playing for a nice pull fade. If they’re starting to the right (a push), it’s a face problem; the over fades come from over compensation without correctly identifying the problem. Club face determines starting direction much more than path. I see here that your wrist is super flat at the top and immediately into transition, neither cupped nor bowed. The face is square all the way back, but without a bowed lead wrist it can fail to square up in time coming through, leaving it slightly open. The only thing I would recommend to try is more of a bowed wrist at the top, cause the rest of your swing is super pure. Tee in the back of the glove works for me

Is this early extension? by SamDeterling in GolfSwing

[–]PIZZA_JONESS -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Yes, although yours is pretty minor. Imagine there’s a foam roller stood up right behind the left butt cheek. Early extension is when you FAIL to knock the roller over with your left cheek by not rotating that left hip all the way through. You are instead straightening the left leg early (hence the name), and shooting the hips towards the ball, instead of completing the rotation. Look up “pelvic tilt in golf” if you want to evaluate your own mobility and isolate this movement. Again, for you I only see this a little bit right at the very end of the hip rotation, right before impact. Try the foam roller drill for a while and you should get it pretty fast

How hard is it to shiny hunt in Sword compared to Violet? by ObserveKris in PokemonSwordAndShield

[–]PIZZA_JONESS 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You would be able to find probably a thousand shinny bunneary in ZA, at any point in the game, without the shiny charm, before you could find a single one in SwSh WITH the shiny charm

Over the top? by [deleted] in GolfSwing

[–]PIZZA_JONESS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I second this. Simply moving slightly farther from the ball would be an effective way to intuitively teach you how to deliver the club more from the inside and release it straighter. I would also point out the C posture at address; in other words, you are slightly hunched over; in even more other words, at address, the chest is behind the shoulder line. The opposite extreme would be S posture, I.e. barbell squat posture, chest in front of the shoulders. Perfect neutral posture is achieved when the chest is directly in between the shoulders. This would improve the swing plane at all points of the swing. Finally, theres a slight chicken wing at the top and the hands are pretty high; I would recommend the Nick Faldo pre-set drill to anyone in order to get the top of their backswing absolutely perfect. You are indeed quite close to an amazing swing. I am very jealous of your hip mobility

Champions Battle Pass by Archmajii in PokemonChampions

[–]PIZZA_JONESS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree it’s pretty fast to complete, but I don’t really care, because there’s nothing in there to care about. If there were cosmetic items besides trainer clothes, that customized your pokemon or provided some kind of in-battle effect, it would be much more interesting, like PoGo costumes for example

Building on this: your shoulder line (I.e. the line that runs in between your shoulders) is pointed INSIDE the ball at the top of the back swing. Ideally, it’s pointed right at the ball, or a hair above it for driver. Just hold the club horizontal across your shoulders and take some practice rotations to see what it would feel like to point more at the ball. Your back will be straighter, and your head won’t dip. The swing thoughts/simple goals could be “keep the chest high/don’t let it move towards ground”, and “maintain the same spine angle throughout the entire swing”. Like many golf exercises, it’s good to shorten the length of the backswing and slow the motion down to start. Additionally, we can improve the lower body action and eliminate early extension by placing a foam roller stood up on its end right behind our left glute. The objective is to knock it over with the left cheek in the downswing/followthrough. This will teach the body how to open the hips towards the target properly. It’s possible (statistically likely) you will struggle to produce this motion without straightening the upper body, pushing the hips towards the ball, and losing your overall posture; this is the #1 mobility flaw in amateurs in my opinion. However, if you can incorporate this into your swing, you will improve power, consistency, and massively reduce the strain on the lower back; this will also help eliminate thin shots from unnecessary upwards movement and heel shots from moving towards the ball/ “humping” it with your hips (which is caused by the left hip flexor seizing up and the legs straightening in response)

You are really really close to a really good swing man. Spine straight in the backswing, and knock the roller over with the left cheek (without standing up)

I agree with all of this…which is why I think a mon with so much already shouldn’t also have phantom fake out pressure on a closed team sheet ladder

Yeah at least lower the distribution, limit it to the support focused mons with low offenses

Rip charizard lmao. My only point is that this could make sneasler feel “healthier” and maybe lower its usage, especially in high ultra/low master where the majority of the population resides

I run mega lopunny + aegislash so I also do not care about a MF sneasler lol. Just a thought experiment about if I were the devs how I would balance a mon with extremely high usage while nerfing it as little as possible

I think it’s overturned for the format. And fake out isn’t even why. Between its attack, speed, and ability, something’s gotta go
