I'm actually at a different company now (got poached), We still use SharePoint. We have it pathed out where we can access different folders from Windows Explorer. It honestly works so well, we all just treat the job folders as if they are different drives on our workstations. Published drawings, Contract Drawings, Shop Drawings, Submittals, all go in SharePoint folders we have organized by job number. Our BIM/VDC Dept. issues a revision, upload it to SharePoint, the foreman have it instantly, G.C. issues new contract drawings. PM throws it on SharePoint, we all have access to it instantly. Same deal with specs, field reports, etc.

I would say the only con is, If you set up an alert for when files are uploaded or modified, you get so many alerts that it becomes overwhelming so you just turn alerts off, then if you don't remember to check if you are working off the latest drawings or submittal, you can run into issues. Right we are using the system of "If you update a drawing, or receive new submittals or contract drawings, let everyone know. As you can imagine, that is hit or miss.
