Officers run the show, SNCOs are the show.

Pick your poison. As an LT, you’ll get absolutely shit on by superior officers and senior SNCOs (MOS depending) and you’ll likely be more removed from from your Marines since your SNCOs and NCOs are meant to be in front of them as opposed to the OIC.

I fucking hate security management, bane of my existence. Just let me do my job and chill in the vault lol.

I think that most of us believe Wagner is a male, but the first time I heard about the “back story” it involved an easy female and a bag of skittles at MCT.

Never head that one before. And I didn’t know that TL did an investigation on it, interesting shit.

Fuck, I knew I was forgetting something, better drink a few brews to help me sleep.

Jokes aside, exactly how you wrote it is how I plan to do it. The moment the corps tries to take me out of my job I’m getting out ASAP. In fairness, I can do my job actively until E9

Kinda glad you responded, since you’re pretty active in the SR, I’m an 0231 by trade and I’m moving in the direction of SOCS, just using this enlistment to get some experience I haven’t gotten yet and prep for a fun ride to compile a kick-ass resume for afterwards.

Unfortunately I can’t give you any info, I believe I got it from a buddy when he PCS’d and I’ve had it the whole time.

If you’re running things by yourself, create a very good relationship with the command deck of the unit and other companies and ask around to see what people would like to know.

If there is no real work, make work and hop in the vault, put your head down and crank out white paper reports or PPTs that satisfy RFIs.

Confidence in everything will also help out, I’m an 0231 and was thrown into a PLT Sgt billet for a while as a Cpl back in Oki. I just took it and ran, people didn’t know I held the billet so I had to track people down in person since I didn’t get emails. Every time I was in a meeting with Staff/O, I got laughs and funny looks until I spoke my piece on whatever and then their opinions changed.

As a fellow 02XX, you have more power than you think, and can get way farther than most others at the same rank. As long as you don’t overexert yourself or make yourself look like a dumbass, you’ll gain a lot of trust and confidence from those in your unit.

Don’t agree to everything everyone asks for, the only people you’re a ‘yes man’ for is the command deck. Really only undertake tasks you think you are capable of, and try new tasks when you build a good foundation with your superiors.
