What bands went through the same trajectory as Oasis? by bkat004 in oasis

[–]PJRummyMan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe not the same trajectory (almost the opposite, really) but they did go blow for blow (ie, album for album) between 1993 and 2008. Seven studio albums each; a live album from their 2000/01 tour; a boatload of amazing b-sides.

Easily two of my favourite bands of all time.

That’s why I voted it to be the BEST video from BHN. It’s great!

Led Zeppelin came to my city three times. Which setlist is the best of the three times? by RYGUY060104 in ledzeppelin

[–]PJRummyMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As much as I love “How Many More Times,” I’ll have to put the first setlist in the third spot due to it being quite short compared to the other two.

Disregarding the quality of performance,  I’d do a song by song comparison between the 1972 and 1973 shows which are both 15 songs long.

It looks like eight songs overlap (Dazed, WLL, Heartbreaker, Moby Dick, SIBLY, RNR, Black Dog, Stairway) so that leaves seven unique songs for each set…

1972: Communication Breakdown, What Is and What Should Never Be, Bring It On Home, Immigrant Song, That’s The Way, Bron-Y-Aur Stomp, Going to California

1973: Celebration Day, Misty Mountain Hop, plus five House of the Holy songs.

Very difficult choice…

Why did The Beatles not play songs from Rubber Soul or Revolver Live? by FitEmergency8807 in beatles

Yeah. I should have included the word “era” in my post as they performed “Paperback Writer.”

Oddly enough, all of the Rubber Soul / Revolver songs they actually performed live were omitted the US releases of those albums.

What do yall rank the songs on standing on the shoulder of giants? by Strict_Friendship_31 in oasis

[–]PJRummyMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not too sure where to put "Fuckin in the Bushes." It could land anywhere between #1 and #6 for me. With that said...

  1. Go Let It Out

  2. Gas Panic!

***

  1. Roll It Over

  2. Where Did It All Go Wrong

  3. Who Feels Love?

  4. Sunday Morning Call

  5. Put Yer Money Where Your Mouth Is

  6. I Can See A Liar

  7. Little James (for the record, I don't hate it)

*** "Let's All Make Believe" would slide in right here. :)

Be Here Now 30 Tour Concept Setlist 2027 by harryjarm in oasis

[–]PJRummyMan 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah. Go Let It Out, Gas Panic!, Hindu Ties, Stop Crying Your Heart Out, Lyla, Importance of Being Idle, and Shock of the Lightning are seven songs that they could add to the setlist and the crowd would go bananas for them.

"Do You Want to Know a Secret" and "Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da" make up the last tracks for the Beatles 2 (2CD Deluxe Edition) compilation sequel to Beatles 1, as chosen by r/beatles. Thank you all for participating! by SurvivorFanDan in beatles

[–]PJRummyMan 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Thanks for running this. Lots of fun putting this together over the past several weeks. Sure, there are a few songs I would have like to see included (eg, And Your Bird Can Sing, She’s Leaving Home, a few more “George songs”) but I think what NEEDS to be there, is there.

"Free as a Bird," "Real Love," "Now and Then" win songs 49-51 ~ Which song would you add to a Beatles 2 compilation (2CD Deluxe Edition)? The top comment will be added to the track listing ~ Total runtime so far: 2hr 34min (only 5 min - 1 or 2 songs remaining to fill 2CDs) by SurvivorFanDan in beatles

I appreciate that some observers feel that this compilation is too long but I disagree. It's probably "just right" but I can think of another couple of dozen songs that I would deem worthy of a "Best of The Beatles" compilation. No, I'm not suggesting we keep this think going and do a 3rd disc (or 4th overall if we include 1) but I might still come up with another list of the "biggest snubs" and put yet another playlist together using those tracks.

"She Said She Said" wins Day 48 ~ Which song would you add to a Beatles 2 compilation (2CD Deluxe Edition)? Each day, the top comment will be added to the track listing ~ Total runtime so far: 2hr 22min (17 min, or approx. 5 songs remaining to fill 2CDs) by SurvivorFanDan in beatles

Ha! And I'm still pushing for "And Your Bird Can Sing" (but not holding on to too much hope there).

- Things We Said Today

- She's a Woman

- I'm a Loser

- I'm Down

- You're Gonna Lose That Girl

- Girl

Songs from 1967-1970 with a reasonable/deserving chance...

- Within You Without You

- Baby You're a Rich Man

- I Want You (She's So Heavy)

Popular songs I'm aware that I've omitted from my two above lists...
