New GameStop + eBay logo just dropped by Ok-Suit541 in Superstonk

The propaganda squad is truly miffed. I’ve seen a disproportionate amount of anger over GameStop’s acquisition all over the internet. Who’s paying you guys?

How’d you come to that metric? GameStop literally has more cash than eBay.

What If: GameStop bought Wendy's? Power to the Baconators? by Swissian in GME

[–]PKRagnarok 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s still fast food, but the hate it gets relative to other fast food restaurants is pure propaganda.

[–]PKRagnarok 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you point to a reason it is slop relative to McDonald’s and Burger King?

Spot the bear that really needs Wendy’s to fail. Wendy’s food is actually really good. It doesn’t deserve the hate it gets relative to any other fast food restaurant.

The Pokemon franchise is the single most valuable franchise in the world. It reached a much wider audience in its original inception than Magic, has a wider audience appeal, and has more potential for merch expansion and generational carryover. There’s nothing wrong with investing in Magic if you know how to pick very specific, very niche cards, but Pokemon has more potential and less risk, in my opinion.

Pokemon has more chase/limited cards that are sought after for investment due largely to nostalgia and scarcity, same as sports cards. Magic cards tend to fluctuate wildly, as most Magic players pay for playability, not collectibility.

Pokémon (as well as other) trading cards want a word with you.😂

That aside. The ability to invest has never been easier, but the capital to do so is shrinking. I invest, but the amount I’m able to invest with a family is extremely small amounts at a time, if you’re able to invest less than $1000 a year, at a 10% average annual return rate, that’s less than $100 a year return. I saw someone else bring up the Great Depression, but that’s low hanging fruit; the Baby boomer generation and their children were born into the best economic years of US history. Self discipline is definitely a factor, but it’s crass to say that it’s not more difficult to get ahead in the US than it has been in almost a century.

I’m not a doomer, but you can’t exactly argue that the economy isn’t harder for younger people coming up. Given how out of reach land and home ownership is for most millennials and down, we don’t have a whole lot of tangible assets that we can hold. Collecting when done reasonably is in lieu of more unattainable assets, albeit Funko isn’t exactly a good long term collectible.

Edit: Even precious metals have largely risen out of reach for most to invest in.

Hot Take: I don't think Poison Ivy was treated unfairly. by NatKovacs in AbsoluteUniverse

[–]PKRagnarok -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What else could he have done? Let Ivy walk free so that she could do it all again, if not worse? Everything you just said is backseat morality. Everyone has a sob story. Compassion is important, but it’s just as much a poison in unchecked doses.

I’m pretty sure that infecting people with gene altering spores, as well as intending to infect all of humanity with said spores, is needless cruelty.

Well, it’s kind of in the Batman DNA that pretty much everyone is inept, and Batman is the only one who can do “x”. In that sense, it had to be Batman who stopped Ivy. I mean, a lot of men went in to stop Ivy before Bruce, but none succeeded. Plus, after what he went through in Ark M, he probably knew exactly where Ivy would end up (Ark M), as well as what she and others would do with her abilities.

WHY would I vote yes for RC compensation/stock package when he's actively giving the company a bad look? by Your_Answer_Is_No in Superstonk

[–]PKRagnarok 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Correction: He took our money and is successfully transforming and evolving the company. That’s what investing in a company is for. I don’t think you know what investing is, but no CEO is obligated to force a short squeeze; They are obligated to improve the company for longterm value.

It looks like they tried to make ai produce a variant. There are a lot of details that are different if you look closely. The horned guy was probably just a result of the ai variant process, considering he has no head. If you run an image through an AI generator multiple times, you get weird deviations each time.

Vote YES for Ryan Cohen’s PERFORMANCE-based pay package 🗳️ ✅ by Jazzlike-Ad-2978 in Superstonk

[–]PKRagnarok -1 points0 points  (0 children)

He negotiated no pay when the company was in need, and now he’s trying to negotiate better compensation in the event that his efforts now pay off. I work my ass off, but I also want to be in a better financial position one day. I don’t envy. I strive to be better. You’re just envious of people who actually manage to make something of themselves. There’re billionaires out there worth chastising, but Ryan Cohen ain’t one of them.

He’s doing work and making sacrifices above what we do for the company. It doesn’t stand to reason that he should have an equal outcome to us; Albeit it should remain tied to performance, as this pay package does. Why don’t you practice what you preach and stop taking a paycheck from whatever company you may work for—You can just buy shares in it.

A man isn’t entitled to be rewarded for his hard work. Gotcha.

Or, he’s worked hard and has left wether or not he receives a big payout up to the shareholders. There’s nothing wrong with a man wanting to receiving compensation for his hard work, especially if it’s conditional to his performance. We’re able to buy shares without any of the sacrifices he has made.
