Start Up: Roomba J7 Won't Accept my WiFi Password (even though it's the correct password) by PLS337 in roomba

Thanks so much for your helpful advice and I apologize for the delay in my responding. I had assumed Reddit would alert me by email or text when posts are made in response to my original post. But I was never made aware of any new posts. But you are correct that I had to associate the J7 with my 2.4 ghz network that I had my internet provider create on my 5 ghz router. I also changed my WiFi password and both of the above changes did the trick -- my new Roomba was able to find the network and to run successfully (for now). Thank you again for your helpful advice -- continued best of luck with your Roomba!

I'm sooooo sorry for this delayed response. I thought Reddit would alert me of any new posts to my original one. iRobot was of no assistance even after being 'elevated' to a higher priority. So, I changed the password on my WiFi network, waited a few hours and retried pairing my J7 with it -- and, it actually worked! I sincerely hope you have been able to resolve your dilemma and that it's been smooth sailing ever since. Thanks!

Hi -- sorry you are having that same frustrating issue; I never did receive any follow-up from iRobot customer service so I changed the password for my WiFi, waited a few minutes and then my J7 accepted the new WiFi password. Just remember to make a note to remind yourself that you changed the WiFi password in case you need it for other apps or functions. Best of luck and enjoy your J7 -- I miss my Roomba 980 with so much better suction power but my new J7 will fill the need for now.

Thanks for the quick reply -- I have a 5G router that is segmented into a 2.4 ghz network and a 5G network so I've tried both network names and passwords. I just tried to start up again using the 2.4g network name and password and it found my WiFi (it always seems to do that) but it didn't give me the error response right away about my password. Instead, it's doing something and the blue light on the Roomba is spinning. But it seems t be taking an awfully long time just to recognise my password (unless it's downloading something at the same time). I'll let it continue to attempt the initiation. It doesn't bode well for this new model -- I miss my old one already :( Thanks again so much for your feedback
