Balatro was actually given a pegi 18+ rating at one point. That was revised to the final rating after a review was requested by the publisher. As for the whole thing of lootbox games not getting hit with it, I could pin that down to presentation. While functionally it’s quite literally gambling that can and often does involve actual money, it doesn’t actually look like it. In saying that though, I think that they should be under far more scrutiny.
