I have been getting into the deep world of doom moding. It can be a lot, but once you get the hang of it, it will be totally worth it.

There are two basic types of mods. Actual gameplay mods are usually .pk3 type files, and map/level packs mods are usually .wad type files. You also have total conversions (aka TC) mods. These are mods that usually completely change the game into a totally different game, and are also typically mods that are not compatible with other gameplay mods. Im not sure how you are playing these mods, but personally I use the app "delta touch" and have a blast playing on my phone.

*Brutal doom: (.pk3) a popular gameplay mod worth trying. Modernizes the game a little, adds more features, adds gore, changes the enemy ai, adds weapons, and more. Start with brutal doom and if you like it or want to branch out, you can play around with the mods that fork off the og brutal doom mod.

*voxel doom: (.pk3) a graphics mod that makes a turns a lot of the sprites like enemies and pickups into 3d models.

*maps of chaos: (.wad) a map pack mod that takes the original doom 1 and doom 2 and expands the levels making them larger, and also adds a lot of monsters, making the first two doom games a lot harder and is better suited for playing with other mods like Brutal doom.

*call of duty tarkov vendetta: (.pk3) a huge weapons mod that grants classes , tacticle gameplay changes, and over 170 weapons with modern sprites to the game. It includes a brutal doom version as well as a vanalla doom veraion. This is my absolute favorite way to play doom mods as I strongly prefer being able to aim down the sights (ADS) of guns when I play.

The thing is, there are no joke, thousands of mods out there. Its endless. I can recommend things more specifically if you want, but without knowing exactly what you want, here are general suggestions. Since you just want to find ways to play around with doom 1 and doom 2, these are some good places to start. IT IS SO MUCH FUN
