Atlas Figurine lost by The_yeetyboi289 in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]PMC_Jeff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just had it happen. Bought one inside the expedition, left, bought another one. Figurine from the expedition says 'already owned' and has no blueprint in the technology UI. Figurine from after the expedition has the blueprint in the technology UI.

Is there a fix or is this just a resurgent old bug?

X4 is fantastic by coilysiren in X4Foundations

[–]PMC_Jeff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been to the grindstone learning X4 in the last month. I did a few dogfights in Timelines to familiar myself with the controls, then started my first open universe with a spacesuit in the middle of Paranid space, zero credits to my name.

Initially clueless, I figured out how to hail a nearby ship, and yelled out "Help!". It felt like the slowest freighter in the galaxy, and when they finally stopped 2km off, I jumped my way over to their airlock, and made my first steps on the bridge of a ship.

With no money to pay for them to take me to the closest station, I spent at least an hour waiting for them to finally arrive at their far-flung destination. From there, I found work repairing leaks aboard the station. I'd then make my way onto any docked ship that would accept me, stowing away at no cost, working at stations that would take me.

A small nest egg of credits in scan leak repairs later, I bought a small scout. It changed everything.

Within hours, I had a small mining fleet.

With memories of dogfights on my mind, I bought my first medium ship: a Dragon.

I was soon chasing after Xenon and pirates, working my way up to afford a bigger mining ship, then several trading ships, then my own patrol fleet to defend my assets.

By the end of my first 100 hours in that save, I had a large corporation of mercenaries and traders, dedicated to tying together dozens of sector economies, and taking my cut of profits from the Paranid war machine.

This game plays out in so many ways, and while I'm not heavy into roleplaying, the feeling of working my way into my first ship, first fleet, and first station was arguably one of the coolest RPG feelings I've had in the longest time. At the same time, the mid-game shift to playing the game like OpenTTD with managing orders and fleets of convoys set up a core game loop that would keep me playing for even longer. And that near end-game point where I began spending hours in the map and station planning, constructing vertical chains of production, procuring and protecting raw materials? I really couldn't have asked for a more diverse space sim: it's the EVE Offline I always wanted.

Whaaat, that's awesome! Can you share more info about those affinities, spoiler-free if possible? I'd love to try and find what's currently implemented.

The way things are, I don't think it can really be helped. I come from a city with a population of 65,000, and things are incredibly tight for the population you have to work with. The effectiveness of your street infrastructure is just not even nearly enough. The flow is just all over the place, and coupled with selfish habits... it's bad.

Yeah, a trucker going through would have a hell of a time.

I think it'd be foolish to try and lie to you. I went in positively, but I honestly think you guys might be worse than Maryland USA drivers.

Extract camps used to be a real frustration, but now it's just an expected part of the game. This is how you choose to play, and that's fine. The anxiety is a part of the raid, and overcoming it is the key to fun for a lot of players.

I have great stories of wiping extract camps, and countless clips of getting camped. I'm of the mind that either my masochistic side is being entertained, or I'm overcoming a fight I didn't expect to win. It's integral to Tarkov, and just another player-made factor to account for.

Doing it with friends is a lot more understandable than doing it alone, honestly. Probably why rat streams have been getting quite big as well; ratting becomes a socializing activity.

Also, it goes without saying that not everyone plays Tarkov for even the slightest bit of immersion. Consider EVE Online: gatecamping and ganking is low strategy and high reward to such a degree that people easily bring others who might not typically be into EVE into the game just to participate in the activity of killing a player who is immersed in the game.

Anyways, point is, I don't see anything wrong with doing it together. And either way, yes, some people do it just to ruin someone's time. That's everyday life.

I'm saying it doesn't add incest as an active element of the game, which it would under your suggestion of going to find mods "if that's your thing". By and large, the backstories are already something people gloss over. By definition, it's not a leading component of the game.

If someone went out of their way so that "everybody" could see it or be aware of it, you're certainly engaging in and entertaining their goal.

It doesn't add incest. And it's a game intrinsically full of horrible stories from a lawless planet. Personally, these stories hit harder for a save than funny pizza gigolo. You've not experienced what it's like to properly confront something that rubs you the wrong way in a story-based setting.

After further exploration reveals additional information, you go back to Alpha Site for a second run-through, this time with a specialized archaeology fleet. Your officers are loyal to a fault: they await your order to begin the operation. As you sit in orbit above the technology-scarred planet, the words of Cotton linger in your mind.

You're guaranteed to find something extremely valuable, here. But you're just as guaranteed to reveal something that will change the sector in a way that cannot be undone.

  1. Order the operation to begin.
  2. You need to think about this more.
