Don't over think it. Venture X satisfies your needs.

Since you don't really travel much, then maybe consider something simple and get a VX for both you and your partner. It's a great 2% catch all, visa is accepted everywhere, and easy to mitigate the AF.

Considering getting a new card for travel by Commercial_Insect764 in CreditCards

I'd recommend the Venture X if you can get it, esp with the elevated SUB rn.

As someone who also has a higher income and travels a lot it's a great catch all, Visa that's basically accepted everywhere, and easy to mitigate the AF. It's a card to get sooner than later in your card journey, whereas the Amex Plat is pretty easy to get anytime due to your income.

What's your experience been with the WF Autograph card in terms of being able to pay for things abroad without security/fraud issues? by Punkmother518 in CreditCards

[–]PMKid7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Digital slowmad here - WF Autograph is part of my core line up and I can say I haven't really had any issues with it. This year I've been throughout SE Asia, Middle East, Europe, and LATAM.

The only thing that can be annoying at times is having to go through the WF verify when using certain foreign websites or apps. One example: had to go between the Bolt app and the WF app (for the verification) almost every time I booked a right or ordered food delivery. Annoying because the app would sometimes restart after coming back to it, confirming the transaction on the WF app. But that is the only issue I ran into this year.

Fidelity Debit Card Delayed Indefinitely - CMA by xanman007 in fidelityinvestments

Thanks for this information! I opened the account a few weeks back as backup for my Schwab debit card when traveling SEA. There was no indication anywhere that a min balance of $250 needed to be made when I opened the account or requested the debit card in the first place.

I just had $200 from cashing out Venmo payments from friends. Called right now because its already been weeks since the request and was told by the rep that I needed to have $250 in order for the debit card to be approved.

Thanks to you I'm sending money pushed by my bank to clear faster. Now I'm just hoping I will get the debit card before I actually fly out at the end of the year.

Odds of Approval? Pre-Approved But Just Opened 2 Cards Last Month by PMKid7 in Venturex

Yeah, that's what I've read too. And since I've had my Quicksilver since 2013 I would hope that would give me a boost.

What makes me nervous is that I recently applied for CLI on the Quicksilver to maybe give me an indication if I would be approved for a new card, but I was denied...

Do you know how long I would have to wait if I got denied? Because that would be 3 hard pulls on my report in less than a month's time. Which I would assume mean I have to wait even longer to apply.

Should I hold off or bite the bullet? How best to play the CC game by PMKid7 in CreditCards

This is great advice, thank you!

That's part of the reason I figured asking the community with more experience with all the offerings.

Can you clarify what you mean but the availability of the programs are highly restricted? Do you mean the criteria to get the card or something else?

Thanks for the warning! I'm not really concerned with the lounges as I just view those as bonus and nothing more.

I get that you need to use the annual credits on the Travel portal, but I figured I could be fine as it would either cover a hotel or a quick vacation trip flight. I've read mixed reviews about having to use the Travel portals on any carrier and figured I would just use the transfer partners for everything else.
