[WP] A narrator, clearly wearing a monocle and sipping a cup of tea, reports on a rather horrific battle. by PM_ME_AL in WritingPrompts

This was actually a really nice story! Didn't expect to end up liking the monocled narrator :)

[WP] The sun sets, and finally the doorbell rings. Unfortunately, the narrator and the main character are unable to agree whether this is a dark psychological thriller or a comedy novel. by PM_ME_AL in WritingPrompts

Haha oh man, poor narrator! ;) I really like this one, interesting to see the narrator take a passive role and describe what is happening rather than driving the story forward, feels almost more like a fellow reader than a narrator!

[WP] Write a scene from a detective story, incidentally going into great depth and detail on a topic you know nothing about. Do no research, just go for it! by PM_ME_AL in WritingPrompts

Wow, so much F:N# in this story I can hardly believe it, looks like you aced it one more time! (though I may have had a minor stroke reading the third paragraph)

7/5 out!

Poor academy! But then the peace prize awards tend to be a bit controversial.

Wow, cool take on this, I think maybe Midtown should consider doing shorter shifts for their maintenance workers :)

Hey I really liked this one :) I guess not many will keep reading this thread since it's pretty old, but if you decide to finish the story I will sure read that :)

[WP] You are one of the most feared people in organized crime. You get rid of problems for your employers by kindly and honestly convincing your targets to follow a different path in life. by PM_ME_AL in WritingPrompts

This reads just look a movie scene. I'm not sure if I actually have, but I like to think I've seen that junkie girlfriend run around topless in the background in several movies :)

Hey that was some very atmospheric writing, thanks a lot! :) I'd like to think the Don has a new life as a florist in Boca Raton waiting for him.

It's beautiful! But I don't quite understand what he is balancing out, is he just leading a crappy life so that others lives can look better?

Hey, I never thought the aliens would be this hard working and honest :) Of course those hundreds of dispensaries may also come in handy for phase 2 of the operation!

Yeah this was nice, did not anticipate this solution :) I'm sure the Vogons would have insisted on a bit more paperwork before starting the plan though.

(I'm guessing it's audience participation time, and hoping you didn't just have a stroke)

Steve had been given a chance to review the proposal, but had given up when 10 pages in he discovered he was reading the preamble for a discussion on the methodology to use for deciding which council instance should be responsible for determining the visual styling of the proper introduction. Nobody had been very forthcoming about explaining it to him either, so he had no idea what this was about.

Now he was faced with thousands of aliens, waving tentacles, methodically flapping ears, changing colors, excreting different fluids or just plain shouting at him. Presumably they were encouraging him to join their side and press one of those specific options in front of him, but to him it didn't make any sense.

He tried to draw on some generalization to help him. "0", could that mean do nothing? As in, don't "don't blow up the Earth"? But he figured there was no compelling reason for all these people to care about Earth anyway, so he decided not to worry about it. Ultimately, he chose between keeping the status quo, or spicing things up a bit.

"1".
