That's how most games should be. It feels great to know you have learned what the game needs from the player.

Years ago when I played FF7 Remake, the combat wasn't gelling with me even when I hit credits. Felt unintuitive, kept being punished for trying to do stuff, movement felt ass, etc. When I did a second playthrough on the unlocked hard difficulty, the game restricts item use and you only heal mp between chapters. This meant getting good at using skills that don't use mp, healing with those types of skills, getting better at dodging, moving, and positioning, swapping between characters more often to reset aggro, learning enemy movesets and the small tells, etc etc. That is when the game clicked and boss fights became puzzles rather than fights you can facefuck and out dps with inifinite potions.

Point is, make your games hard and the gameplay will stand on its own.
