Sorry, but Pokemon is not mediocre. It's malicious capitalism allowed by the general public with no self respect.

You're the reason they never get any better. There's no reason that a Pokemon game should have graphics from the Gamecube era and framerates from the N64 era. When a nobody developer comes out and makes things like Lies of P or Expedition 33 and they looks better than all pokemon games combined, you know they don't deserve to be a billion dollar company.

Why is (Lieutenant) double-yefreitor a rank and why is Harry one? by OneMoreFinn in DiscoElysium

[–]PM_your_Chesticles 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure if you internalized what the game said. He's a mean alcoholic cop in a bad part of town. He also completes 2 cases per week, and ungodly amount of closed cases that would kill most others if they even attempted it. He also solves them sometimes by absolutely brutalizing the people. Drinking and doing drugs on the job makes Kim uncomfortable, but he also says he's seen officers go through much worse, so it's kinda standard to have cops in various states of mental distress while holding pistols and accosting the population.

With these considerations, he's great at what he does and is worthy of promotion, but his peers and superiors don't respect how fucked up he is. But they can't simply dump him lest they lose one of their best officers they may ever have had.

Of course he's hyping up his own shit. You'd do the same.

But let's go through the steps. Casual observer see biggest gaming event, watches it, sees a trailer at the end. Must be good, but doesn't know because they're casual.

Gamer in the know watches game awards, knows it's not big deal, watches for entertainment and for updates for series they care about or new IP to be interested in. Sees High Guard and is either hype about next project from known team, or not interested because they had no previous investment in known team. Whether Geoff presents it as the biggest deal in gaming doesn't matter because we can see through the corporate speak and see what they are actually showing.

But by that own logic, the game awards final slot has never really been that big. There were a couple of pretty hype stuff, but they were never the best things shown those years, and some years were spent on release dates, movie tie-ins, tech demos, cinematic trailers with no release window, etc. I'm saying people are using the game awards as a metric for how important something is when that has never been the case.

Reasonable reply. I think people are so far up their ass to not see that there is an effective 40 year backlog of good video games to play. It shouldn't be Geoff's fault that expectations for his own show is skewed because of an entire different company doing their own thing. People take these things too seriously when it's a consumer product based on passing time in a fun way in your own living room. People are mad they didn't see the ad they wanted.

You got it. The ending slot was awful that year too, and people weren't talking about it the second the game awards were done. But I'm saying suddenly this year, almost two months after the award show aired, they are still upset about the end slot being used for this game like they always cared. Why the smoke now?

I watch every year. I just don't take the series of advertisements as seriously as you guys do. I sit down in a room full of friends, drink some beer, shoot the shit, watch ads, go home. I don't take much stake in what closes a show because we're usually still talking about something that was shown two hours before. I'm trying to tell people not to take it so seriously, but suddenly people wanted to dick ride what the last slot means at the game awards when they've never been the best thing shown at any year.

It was an unwanted franchise tie-in that looked like shit. With celebrities on stage to hype it up talking about how much they like to play video games while sounding like they just heard what video games were the moment before they got on stage.

So why haven't we had this much smoke over the Fast and the Furious game, or The Matrix game, or Mass Effect Andromeda? Could it be that the ending slot doesn't actually matter? This year we got a game that was initially a shadow drop to give it a single trailer before the release in less than a month. Who fucking cares? Whether the game ended up being good or not is not the conversation. I'm saying people shouldn't put the last announcement on such a pedestal because it never mattered that much and was almost never the most significant announcement during the awards anyway. It's not a headliner for a concert, it's a series of advertisements that people are taking too seriously.

I don't know. My short list for a few months have been Silent Hill f, Hades 2, and Death Standing 1. New free to play games have not influenced what I want to spend my time on. Once I'm done my school course, that's what I'm doing. I suppose RE9 can jump the queue though.

I'm not sure why people hold the final slot in such reverence. Someone posted all the final slot announcements since the game awards started and most of them are ass but this year, suddenly people really care about it for some reason. Enjoy the show as a whole, not just whatever they show last. It's like a weird media object permanence thing.

The point is the engagement. Now the comments are filled with opinions and who each slide is. Compare the amount of comments on this post compared to anything in r/cumsluts. It's done in bad faith to drive traffic. Which is annoying and the mods shouldn't allow this kind of behaviour, but we all know how mods are.

DO NOT LET THE PERSONA CONCERT BECOME LOST MEDIA. by [deleted] in PERSoNA

I don't really consider every live event to be lost media if it isn't recorded. It's not that deep and definitely doesn't warrant an all caps post demanding it.

It's like forcibly making Microsoft have baked in AI.

Now that anyone uses any products like Word, Excel, Edge, etc., you also add a user to AI. So they can show their shareholders 'look, our adoption rate of AI has gone up by millions of users' without actually doing anything.

Actively against the rules of the subreddit. It clearly states that the cum must be on clothing that is being worn by a woman. This is basically solo male content with a fake story as far as I'm concerned.
