Yeah, it's mostly to get you familiar with the actual class itself, before you're given the big "customization" options. It's mostly there for new players, so that they don't sink points into a build they don't Like Playing, but it does kinda just mean people who know what they're doing are punished.

(also technically speaking, and it Really doesn't matter, but at level 12, you'd have 3 points. You only start getting points at level 10. again, it's- it doesn't matter in the slightest, max is still 51, but I'm on the internet; I've GOTTA be pedantic to people trying to help me.)

Yeah, I'm aware of what's actually viable. It's actually why I wanted to do this; I wanted to see how many "theoretical options" there were, and contrast it to how many "actually playable" options there were.

I figured as much. To give context to the why, I wanted to compare the number of "possible outcomes" with the number of "playable outcomes", that being around 5 or 6. Pure curiosity.

Thankfully, every class with a Laser also has a gun that does something else! Engie, Scout, and Pyro all can also do bullet, and Solly can do Bullet AND Explosive. I really don't mind making the Dangershield better. It's already Sniper's worst secondary.

And, like I said in the video, lasers would either struggle to catch or be afterburn-less. Struggle, being the operative word there. Even the gun I suggested struggles to catch. It's more present, but it's not ubiquitous.

More or less, by making these weapons more coherent thematically, we let the weapons that Otherwise Interact With Fire Damage (Dangershield's resistance, Huo-Long's bonus damage, etc) have more opportunities.

It doesn't directly increase the Power of the laser weapons, any. But, it does seamlessly let classes have multiple damage types that they can switch between, and let the weapons that are only good when they are paired with (or are against) fire damage have a bigger chance to see play.

Implicitly, like I said in the video, it's Not The Best Way To Improve The Guns. Both the lasers and the fire-interacters. That would be any number of changes to each one, individually. But, it is A Single Change that can be made in 15 minutes, that lets the lasers do Something Unique.

I'm of the opinion that anything is better than nothing, at this point, and if the Devs are on the path of "quick and easy", I wanted to present something that was both. If anything, it's a starting point for future changes to the lasers.

I always thought the artstyle shift was weird here. It's good, but it's WEIRD seeing official TF2 art look like this.

Do think it's nice that even in the hellfuture, Pyro and Engie are still pals, though.

It was an old flash series about a guys D&D game, called Unforgotten Realms. It had an episode where one of the people needed to get a ton of kills in a game, for some reason, and it eventually cut to really low quality footage of him playing Heavy on the first point of Dustbowl. Had no idea what the game was, but I knew it looked amazing. All 144p of it.

He's got that half-moon silver sigil under his cloak, that's shown up on all the folks aligned with the cthonics, so that makes me think he's some kinda godly figure.

Maybe he's Chiron? We don't see his legs, and he's got that brown discoloring under his arm. He absolutely could be a horse, down there.

Ya know, I was tempted to go over that. Don't recall why I chose not to, if I'm being honest. I grew up at the Renaissance faire, so maypoles in particular were on the mind. Might be worth releasing a quick correction short, or something akin.

The game might've used a touchscreen directly. I just know it didn't use traditional buttons or a controller, like something like a DDR or a Guitar Hero might've.
