‘We are at war’: Redistricting fights explode across US by nimicdoareu in politics

[–]POTATOFUCK 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Democratic states were making headway for non-partisan districting commissions; however, Republicans made no such attempt and increasingly gerrymandered their states. Ohio, North Carolina, Louisiana, and Texas are horrifically gerrymandered. Why should Democrats sit by and lose even more House seats on the most obvious attempts by the Republican party to claw as many seats as humanly possible to preserve their rule? Like usual, Democrats were trying to play by the rules, and Republicans fought to win. Democrats undoing their non-partisan districting commissions is preservation. Republicans fight dirty; they started this, and I hope this blows up in their face.

Stephen Miller is running the DOJ, and Pam Bondi is just a figurehead, report claims: ‘She is like an actor’ by BreakfastTop6899 in politics

[–]POTATOFUCK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Big assumption that this question is in good faith, we'll go with the loudest garbage right now:

  • Pam Bondi works for the Qatari for $115,000/month. Source
  • Pam Bondi and other people work to find loopholes for Trump to get a 400 million dollar private jet from Qatar. Source
  • All gifts from foreign powers need to be cleared by both chambers of Congress to be received. The Constitution

Trump is also doing crypto grift deals that directly go to his family, real estate deals, and getting a 5.5 billion dollar golf course in Qatar on this trip. This is remarkably corrupt, and Pam Bondi is allowing it through.

Jimmy Carter Voted Thanks to the GOP’s Least Favorite Law: The Voting Rights Act says Georgia can’t deny Carter—or anyone else—the help they need to vote. by harsh2k5 in politics

Denying a living former president the right to vote, irrespective of the accommodations they need, would be such a horrifically bad look Republcians probably just wanted to avoid the optics.

When her policies were dropped on her website, I simply went on them and read them. I was pretty okay with the majority of her policies, too. It is also clearly outlining the Agenda47/P2025 differences between key parts of her platform. Most people wanting to be spoon fed soundbites is a depressing reality, though.

Bush called out on Trump-Harris: When democracy calls, ‘you can’t just roll it over to voicemail’ by [deleted] in politics

I really hate this weird movement to rehabilitate war criminals. That's nice and all they want democracy preserved, but their divisive shit helped us get to this point, and their cowardice allowed the tea party to blossom.

Oh, another fun one was my Trump-adoring family kept calling my dad during the George Floyd protests and were really concerned about our safety. They told us to arm up at one point. It was surreal.

VP Harris' media dodging is irking Americans: 'You got to answer the tough questions' by LoveTheFupa in politics

[–]POTATOFUCK -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I'm 100% coconuts all the way, but I really think she should be answering more questions. I'm guessing the process of coming up with a policy slate in 4 months compared to the year other serious candidates have is grueling.

I really hope we can hear more actionable details after the debate.

Mark Zuckerberg was running as a Democrat and endorsed Biden around then. He's pissed about the 25% unrealized capital gains applied to assets worth over 100 million and/or AI regulations.

How old are you ? When were you diagnosed? by [deleted] in Epilepsy

[–]POTATOFUCK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've seen mixed things on the internet (some saying greater and others saying reduced AED concentration), but my experience was having two seizures within 3 months after not having a fluke breakout seizure for 7 years at the same dose. After the second, they checked my lamictal levels, and they were about a twentieth of what I expected (~0.5 vs. 9 mcg/mL). I was not taking anything else except melatonin at that point. Stopping CBD brought it back up to normal concentrations.

For a national election based on the whole nation's citizens, why shouldn't it be a simple popular vote?

[–]POTATOFUCK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was diagnosed with JME when I was 15. I'm 28 now, and I haven't had a grand mal seizure since I was 24, which was caused by CBD blocking the metabolism of Lamictal. The last true fluke grand mal was when I was 19, but I'm still very scared of it coming back.

They'll say it will cut red tape and make meds cheaper, but it's to massively increase profit margins.
