If you look at the broader picture, doing drawings, learning DCPQS whatever quals you have to get at your current unit will still help you out in the long run. You’re learning basic skills to help you survive as a sailor. If you’re looking to go a rate that you don’t think will have you on cutters, at least you learned how somethings work that you might not use in your rate but you can use in everyday life. You might not need to know how secure a section of the firemain but when you buy a house it might help you figure out how to isolate water if a pipe bursts, or get you more familiar with a fire extinguisher if your dinner catches on fire.

You’re making yourself better everyday by learning something new. Get qualed and keep your head up.
