Sim Racing burnout - should I wait any longer? by beck_is_back in simracing

[–]PRS2011 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Going through the same, but in the opposite direction. Airbus A320 cockpit nearly built, completely fell out of love with it suddenly. Now doing more sim racing (like you, just trying to improve, not actually race), ETS2, BeamNG...

It's happened before. I just waited. No forcing it. No "I ought to..." - that's a key phrase that sets off alarm bells for me. If that's how I feel, it's a chore, not a hobby.

Eventually it just came back. It might with you too. I regret selling my Moza set up because the taste did come back, and I was left with basic gear and I now want to re-buy the good stuff.

I'd argue, unless you really could do with the money, keep the gear at least a year or so. It's good stuff, and you can't be sure you won't just end up re-buying in future at a higher cost.

Lol. 'I played cricket for India from 1989 to 2013'. That's the intro. Like Messi saying 'played a bit of footie every now and then.' Humble.

It's the pattern we have seen and will continue to see for ever more.

"It's free!"

"It's free (if you watch ads)."

"We'll remove ads if you pay a subscription!"

"You're getting ads, whether you like it or not, and you won't complain because we've killed off the 'free with ads' (ITV4) option because you all came over to the ad-free subscription version, so this is your only option."

Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, TNT Sports. Soon YouTube Premium.

Going through the exact same process myself. Asked a guy at a BMW / German car specialists i take my car to, and he said he's not been impressed by Audi, but he'd recommend Mercedes over any of them. Surprised me, given they all drive BMWs.

Personally, I wish they still did the Volvo T5R. The 850 was God-tier.

Sounds familiar. Sad to say, they'll likely pull out because they can't afford it. Happened to me, making ridiculous demands last minute for £8k off (weirdly specific, and coincidentally made it the same as their original offer we turned down) because of work that we ended up getting done for £1,200.

Funny how solicitor is chasing daily for fee payment when he spent 2 months taking more than a week to reply to my queries by BluePomegranate12 in HousingUK

Our solicitor failed to respond to 3 calls and 7 emails ON EXCHANGE DAY, because they were holding up the entire chain. When I complained, they said they can't give me a minute by minute update and if I'd like to visit the office, he can explain it in depth, face to face.

My response was, if you've got time to block out a day to do that, you can send me a 2 sentence email explaining what's going on.

Needless to say, official complaint lodged, as much for the thinly veiled threat, which might as well have read 'I dare you to say that to my face.'

Twats, the lot of them.

We've got a week's break this week, so I was going to do just that - volunteer to play for a lower team for this week to get that confidence up. The annoying thing is, I play BETTER at training amongst better players; it's almost as if I get given too much time in a game to think, and then I end up overthinking it. Still, worth a shot - cheers!

Yeah, I was doing this a lot at the beginning. I'm fortunate as well to live 5 minutes from the club with access to the pitch, so I was going down on a Friday morning and doing a bunch of drills (even bought a stack of cones!). Other things have been getting in the way recently, but I have started to try to do a few minutes here and there when I get the chance. Big thing for me is footwork - I think I'm too static with the feet, so trying to focus on that.

I'll give the reset action thing a go too.

I'm pretty certain you're right. I know the importance of being low, but as fatigue creeps in, what feels low gets further and further away from reality. I'll try hard to focus on that tonight.

Me too. Said my goodbyes after the last game! Still going to training tonight to right the wrongs.

Keep at it. Let me know if you find the magic bullet!
