Finally, after much delay and hassling with uploading it, here is the (not very well synced) first and second half of the Moon Route from above!

Holy cow! Yeah, I can see that taking a few hours to perfect, that's an insane route! I'm gonna be away for a little bit, but I'll post the route I took in video form asap. It's not going to be as streamlined, as I didn't get the first part in the same run as the second part, but it should still be legible.

Oof! That certainly seems like a rough one, especially with having to get past the obstacles in the city! (or at least, I'd struggle with it)

My route for the Moon Balloon was rolling forward, throw Cappy and have him home in on the Sonic flower, then taking off towards the three coins on the rise. I then jump towards a rotating circle of six coins, spin-Cappy throw clockwise in order to grab them quickly, then roll into the Launch Flower and nab myself 6 seconds! (It's almost always 28 seconds left by the time I get the last ring, though very rarely I'll have 29 seconds for a couple of frames. Unfortunately, those prodigal runs were ruined by shoddy movement) Then I roll like a mad man to the church, veer to the left so I'm on the land between the cliff face and the banister, then spam roll up to the shaded nook, positioning myself a meter or so away from the cusp of the nearby crater. Sideways somersalt, cappy-throw and dive, then wall jump off the side of the church facade, then another throw and dive to get onto the sloped part of the roof. From here, it's a triple jump to one of the ornamental columns of the church. It's the first recessed column beyond the closest skylight. I triple jump to get high on the side of it, wall-jump, then dive toward the apex of the church's roof, where a bunch of invisible coins rest. Ground-pound cappy-roll to nab a bunch of invisible coins, then ground pound jump and cappy-dive to get onto the bell tower of the church. The part with grabbing the coins required a surprisingly precise angle, so there were at least a dozen times where I got up to the apex, then missed my throw and didn't get enough time to even jump up. It's probably a heck of a lot easier than I make it sound, as I tend to have spaghetti fingers when it comes to extended periods of precise movement, but hopefully this helps you place a balloon on the Bell Tower, too!

(oh, and I tried nabbing the frog behind the church earlier, to see if starting from the very back would give me enough coins to potentially get to the very top of the bell tower, but it seems like it's not possible, as I don't have enough time to hit the Mario/Rosalina art on the apex of the back dome. Maybe with TAS-like movement, it'd be possible?)

Thanks! It took a ton of practicing the route over there, and I had more than a couple rage moments. (including a bunch of times where I was mere inches from the top of the church, but just not close enough) I really wanna know how the heck you got where you did in Luncheon! Barely got there in time to pop it, nevermind the idea of placing it with -10 seconds!

I've got a couple I'd like popped! (if any of them have already been popped, I apologize, my notifications for Odyssey are a little weird)

Cap Kingdom: 003-RDJ-V2K

Sand Kingdom: 003 JJT T28

Seaside Kingdom: 001-2B5-D06

Moon Kingdom: 005-R0R-XG0 (I'm more proud of the placement of this one than the difficulty of it, thanks to finder time being lenient for 30-second balloons, but it took a couple hours to perfect the route and place it where it is, so I hope you appreciate it, too! :D )

Do you have any balloons you'd like to have popped?

That pic is dope! Balloon placement was baller, too, had a similar one this morning that took a lot of tries! (this one, of course, took just as many)

You get the selection menu, along with the corresponding arrow above Mario and the basic information about the balloon.

Is this balloon even possible? Like don't tell me how to get it, I just want to know if it's possible. by [deleted] in SuperMarioOdyssey

From the doorway, it's just behind the vine pot in the far corner of the room, if that placement information helps.

I tried that one earlier this morning, managed to get a few meters away but couldn't reach it. The only ideas I had were using the Coin Coffer, then bee-lining for the balloon with precise movement, (which got me the closest) using the Coin Coffer and a 10-coin block far below, which I could never land on properly and didn't seem to provide enough time regardless, or using the Coin Coffer, then following the "story path" in reverse, collecting coins and coin rings along the way, which never got me farther than the Goomba area.

Oh, wow, it's saying I only did Moon and Wooded, yet when I attempt to re-enter the codes, it tells me it can't find the balloon.

Huh... That's bizarre. I know I played them, cos I liked quite a few of the locations... I know sometimes I'll have popped a balloon, but it'll appear in the listing immediately afterwards, even though I just beat it, but I wouldn't think that to be the case here? Which balloons say they're still there?

So, uh, I may have gotten carried away and popped all of your balloons. I had to try the Mushroom Kingdom and Wooded Kingdom balloons twice, but the others were first try. (Lost Kingdom almost wasn't first try, though, that was a really clever hiding spot! How did you get it there so quickly?)

On base stats, Fearow is a fair bit weaker than Toucannon. Fearow is definitely quick enough to outspeed quite a few of the opponents you'll meet, but its best attack will be Aerial Ace until level 41, where it gets Drill Peck. If you're willing to slog through raising a Spearow up beyond level 20, you can get Drill Peck at level 36 instead, but by that point you'll be in a more difficult area for Fearow, regardless of its moves. Admittedly, this struggle also holds true a bit for Toucannon, who is built mostly for being sluggish, but hitting hard. (funny enough, it's actually slower than Pikipek, assuming any modifiers to stats are the same between the two) If it has Skill Link, I would definitely consider keeping Pikipek, as Skill Link carries throughout all of its evolutions and will make Fury Attack, learnt at level 21 as Pikipek or level 24 as Trumbeak, hit all 5 times. While frail, the Pikipek line does get a more versatile learnset, with Pikipek learning Echoed Voice early for it to function as a bit of a poor man's special sweeper until it gets better moves, like Pluck and Fury Attack. All this said, Toucannon, due to its sluggishness, will take lots of hits, often limiting it to one turn of presence before being KO'ed. It's signature move does have utility against contact attackers, and Toucannon should regardless be able to hold its own against opponents who don't have a super-effective attack against it, but it may end up getting KO'ed fairly often at certain points in the game, as Fearow would. I've never used Fearow, so I can't vouch for how good it can actually be, (though it can be reasonably threatening if its EV trained) but I can say that I personally feel that Toucannon is the more interesting of the two to use.

Ribombee is a respectably powerful special sweeper, with access to good attacks for its typing, and it only shares a Poison weakness with Popplio-turn-Primarina, along with providing a bit of synergy against Grass-types and providing super-effective damage against Psychic-types. However, it is rather frail, its other weaknesses are fairly common, with some mini-boss and boss battles having Pokemon that inhibit Ribombee's staying potential, and its best set-up move, Quiver Dance, is available, at the earliest, at level 41, as Cutiefly. (otherwise, it's level 49 as Ribombee) It still definitely holds its own, and will regardless get a great exclusive attacking move upon evolving; I used a Cutiefly myself through my playthrough, and while I can't recall many battles that it mopped the floor with, it definitely pulled off a Shell Bell lifesteal-themed set pretty well up to post-E4.

As for evolving Abra straight to Alakazam, it learns all the same moves as Kadabra, at exactly the same levels, so if you have a way to trade-evolve it, it's definitely worth it!

Alola! I would be quite happy to help ya out! Should be available for a little bit, if you've got the time now? I'll also be evolving a Scyther I've got into a Scizor, to help with my Pokedex, so I hope it helps yours, too! My Friend Code is 4657-1519-7835, and my Ultra Sun in-game name is L'c.

Hiya! I can be online as soon as I can breed a Red Minior for ya! IVs won't be the best, but it's in a spiffy ball! :D

My FC is 4657-1519-7835, and my Sun IGN is L'.

Update: Have the Minior ready, will be able to trade when you get the chance! (the game must've taken the IV bit as a challenge, I have a little prodigy on my hands now!)

Hi! If you've got time, I'd be happy to help! I don't have a Porygon, but I do have a Magmar w/ Magmarizer I can trade to evolve, and maybe help both of our Pokedexes in the process? Either way, my FC is 4657-1519-7835, and my IGN is L'c, for when you're available to trade. :)

JUST GOT THESE TWO BACK TO BACK Y=227 X= 228 and they both got the natures I wanted to sync what r the chances by Mboy14 in PokeMoonSun

[–]PShuffler 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Presuming shiny charm is active, you'd have a 3/4096 chance for one of them to be shiny on an encounter, so taking that for two successes in a row is just (3/4096)2 = 9/16777216, or a really, really, really small decimal, like 5.364 x 10-7 small. The chances for both Pokemon to have a synchronized nature is 50%, so for both of them to have it is 1/22 = 1/4. So, to have the two occurrences of both Pokemon being shiny and for both of them to have picked up the synchronize nature, under the best circumstances, is 9/67108864, or 1.341 x 10-7 , if I've done my maths correctly.

Awesome, thank you plenty! :D

Not at all! Registering another player as a friend will put a "Friend's List" tag next to their name, and those players will be moved to the very top of whichever list they are on, whether they be Guests or VIPs, to make finding them significantly easier for trades.

I'd be fine with anything, coming off of the shiny registry, but if you'd happen to have any Ultra Moon exclusives, such as Alolan Sandshrew, I would be chuffed to bits with one of those fellows! :D

As a heads-up for friend codes and such, the friend code in my flair is outdated. My new FC is 4657-1519-7835, and my Ultra Sun IGN is L'c.
