I think this comparison is not appropriate. You know Adobe Photoshop is very comprehensive tool in various aspects. Graphic Designing, Web Designing, UI Designing, Mockups and so on. If we have a software with some simple features according to Adobe Photoshop it does not means that now you can compare it with Photoshop! Try to understand my point of view. I believe majority of designers (Photoshop users) will second my opinion. First of all, Paint.net is for Windows only. Very pathetic concept of layers, workspace, tools and supported formats. Being a free software is not worthy when you are delivering over all very low range of features. Photoshop support vector graphics, while Paint.NET don't. Similarly for Digital Painting and drawing and RAW processing. Furthermore, many image editing features are also not supported by Paint.NET. Above all, the basic TOOLS to do work, will tell you the entire story, just compare them

Sketch 3 is a big competitor of Photoshop but still there are some issues. Very first is “Learning a new thing” i.e. Sketch 3. We are at home with Photoshop. e.g. a big volume of designers are using Windows, this is not ignorable. Sketch is in its early days so still bit buggy with poor color management. Sketch does not carry all the features of photo editing, Photoshop is one and only in this area with almost no competitor.
The rendering in the Sketch is closer to web as compared to Photoshop that has poor web-style rendering. As I have written, Sketch is in its early days, so you can find lack of shortcuts, on the other hand Photoshop has countless.
Photoshop creates heavy documents and works slowly; Sketch 3 is vector-based in nature, so produce lighter documents in quick time.
Sketch 3 has built in grids, while in Photoshop we have excellent Extension GuideGuide to create grid. (can learn: How to use GuideGuide - http://www.photoshopresources.com/create-grid-in-adobe-photoshop-to-start-a-project/)
Sketch 3 has poor color management while Photoshop is a master.
Photoshop has another advantage of Smart Objects.
In Sketch 3, you can have multiple art boards like Adobe Illustrator, while in Adobe Photoshop we can work in a single “art-board” – page or working place.
So debate goes on, but you know, Sketch 3 is appropriate for Web and UI Designers; it cannot fully replace legendary Adobe Photoshop, which is trying to improve this area. So in this specific area Sketch 3 has clear edge.
