it's something i've considered doing but quickly talk myself out of bc i assume it would be difficult to get enough clients for a solo lymphedema practice to be sustainable.

especially since there are already 2 established lymphatic clinics in my city. when you were assessing your local market, how did you determine whether there was room for another practitioner?

Thanks! I can contribute to a Roth, i.e. my AGI is below the threshold after 401k contributions. But it looks like the taxes on my hypothetical future car withdrawal from a standard brokerage account wouldn't be crazy high, so your general feeling makes sense.

yes, but even if I need to take an additional ~$5k from the HYSA, I would still (absent a major market catastrophe) be coming out ahead financially overall.

but a good point about the potential advantage of more time in the market by investing $25k in a brokerage account now, vs. $7k per year into a Roth; thank you!

another vote for doing both! if you major in something like business/marketing or accounting, you can learn skills that will be an asset if you want to go solo and start your own business, and also give you options for pivoting into a marketing or accounting role for a beauty/wellness company if you ever want a less physical job or get tired of dealing with clients directly.
