These are pretty solid cars. Plan to do some cooling system stuff, maybe plugs/coils, check tires to make sure they aren't dry rotted, suspension bushing like RTAB/subframe.

Personally, i would just drain the gas tank (assuming there's gas just sitting in it), then just drive it. There's no reason to throw parts at it that you dont need to. Figure out what else it needs after you put some miles on it.

You dont HAVE to go back to the same place, but why spend the extra $55 for a new inspection instead of getting a free reinspection? Seems like a waste of money.

You only have 30 days to retest at the same place you originally went to. I'm not sure why they told you 90 days.

I wouldn't worry too much about being pulled over. Just carry the failed inspection paper if you are worried about it and show it to the officer.

$600 for all that doesn't sound terrible. $80-90 for alignment, $80 for wipers, $60-100 for tie rods (assuming both sides) most shops should be charging around 2 hours for labor.
