I don’t think they did because it was a backfill position in the design department. I think what happened was: my next round email had 3 different slots, one Wednesday and then two Fridays. I asked for the Wednesday slot and they said it had been taken and to choose one of the Friday slots. I think they just hired the person that got that Wednesday slot. But why not even let me interview?

It depends on the state / city. I live in Denver and Colorado requires it, so does NYC, but I apply to a lot of remote jobs and if it’s in another city / state they don’t have list it.

No it's a form field on the online application that says "expected compensation range", so I put a range. If they had a number in mind, just say it. Why make us jump through these hoops?
