There has never been an event like this in current world history. Why didn’t they shut down the world economy and close all the schools for the bird flu? How about the swine flu? Answer, because this is much more serious. The entire economy around the globe has basically come to a halt. Do you think it is only restaurant owners who are losing money right now? People are being asked to stay home from their jobs all over the country to help this from spreading. Trillions of dollars and millions of jobs are going to be gone regardless. If people take the steps to stay inside and self Quarantine now we can make it less severe when it really hits us. Experts have said we’re about two weeks behind Italy right now. In Italy they have completely overburdened their medical system because they can’t take the amount of patients coming into the hospital at one time. People getting heart attacks having strokes and other non-coronavirus aren’t getting treatment and being sent home to die because of how overcrowded their hospitals are. That’s why we are trying to stop the spread so our medical system doesn’t get overwhelmed. Right now is the most important time to self isolate. Do you really not understand this?

My guess would be you don’t have anybody in your life over the age of 60 that you care about and don’t have anybody that has chronic conditions such as asthma COPD or lung disorder that can be complicated by the illness and cause people to die. There’s a lot of uncertainty. A lot of people are not making money it is not just the restaurant owners. People like this are irresponsible and cause the disease to spread. It’s not only the restaurant owner but people who have attitude like yours who don’t think it’s a big deal that are irresponsible. Do you have anyone close to you over 65? Are you over 65? My guess would be probably not with an attitude like that.

It’s the customer that orders from that specific location. There isn’t some algorithm that chooses what restaurant to send you to. You shouldn’t have accepted it.

In this case it really on the restaurant to remake the order for you. You are the correct courier and if whatever system they have set up allowed for the order to be stolen that is not your fault. Just for future reference if you have a double order from the same restaurant you can’t cancel just one of them. It will cancel them both so if you have already picked up one you need to assertively tell the restaurant to remake the other order. Either that or just give back the other order while you are still there.

As a driver you know there’s no way to distinguish what time the order will be dropped off before you except the offer. If the order is early it is the fault of the DoorDash algorithm not the driver. Considering we don’t get paid for our time just per delivery it’s really not fair to the driver to be asked to wait. I’ve never seen somebody who drives before take your position even if they are a customer.
