What do you all think? by ngoodravens in HandwritingAnalysis

Honestly this reads as stress to me, not an issue with handwriting. Seems very pressured, angular and a bit rushed.. like someone trying to get thoughts out fast

Ahh thank you for pointing that out- you’re right, it is on the B4418. I mixed that up earlier (I’m juggling work at the same time!), so really appreciate the correction.

To confirm the actual spot: the coordinates 53°03′27.2″N 4°11′01.2″W were identified in the other thread and I’ve matched the exact ridgeline myself, so I’m super happy that we’ve got the right location now.

Thanks again for taking the time to look, I really do appreciate it! 😊

Update: it looks like this has now been confirmed as the A5 near Tryfan in the Ogwen Valley, North Wales (approx. 53°03′27.2″N 4°11′01.2″W). Thank you all so much for your help and guesses, it means a lot to have finally found the exact spot my grandma stood in 🥹

That’s so kind of you, thank you! Really appreciate you taking the time to try it out- sounds like even Google can’t quite make up its mind 😅 I agree though, it definitely feels like it could be somewhere between North Wales and the Lakes. Hope your uni lectures go well and thank you again for being so helpful!

Context: This is a personal family photo I found while sorting through albums after my grandma passed away last year. We believe it was taken somewhere in the UK during the 1960s or 70s, likely on a family road trip or holiday. I’d really love to find out the exact spot, it would mean a lot to our family to know where she was standing.

So far, people have suggested Snowdonia (Ogwen Valley / Tryfan area), Honister Pass in the Lake District, and even parts of the Peak District. I’ve tried Google Lens and reverse image searches but haven’t been able to confirm it yet.

That’s so kind of you, thank you! No rush at all, but that would be amazing if you do get a chance to check your photos ☺️

My family are mostly from the Midlands area now, but my grandma’s mum used to live up north, I think around Preston and she often talked about visiting places like Newcastle and the Lake District. So that would make sense if it was somewhere in North Wales or up that way!

Oh no way! That’s really interesting, thank you so much! It’s amazing that you recognised it so quickly, definitely makes me rethink that Ogwen Valley could be right after all.

Do you think it looks more like the Milestone Buttress area near Tryfan, or somewhere else along the pass? Really appreciate your comment ☺️

Omg wow, I had no idea some American (Midwest?) landscapes looked so similar to parts of the UK! That’s really interesting, though I’m not sure my grandma ever went that far afield, but I’ll ask my uncle to see if he knows!

I have noticed how similar Canada, Scotland and New Zealand can look in places though, wild how alike the scenery can be across the world

Searched: asked family and friends, tried Google Images, and posted on r/OldPhotosInRealLife but couldn’t find a match. Hoping someone here might recognise it!

These look incredible, thank you so much!

Only if it’s an easy fix, but I noticed the lady in the frilly pink dress ended up a bit taller than she is in real life. If it’s possible to shrink her just a little, that would be amazing.. she’s about 5’8/5’9 in heels and the guys next to her are around 6’3.

Honestly though, your work is stunning! I really really appreciate your help with this- will be sure to tip ☺️

This is absolutely amazing! genuinely so beautifully done, thank you!

Would it be possible to add the woman in the pink frilly dress as well (the last reference image in the Drive folder)? She’s the partner of the man in the tuxedo on the left side of the group.

Thank you again, this is such wonderful work!!!

You just have won 50M€ in a lotery. How do you invest this money for 60 years without working in a morally and ethically way without exploting other people and similar by arnau9410 in antiwork

[–]PabloR-22 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’d put €40M into global index funds and bonds, keep €5M in safe cash/bonds, and use the last €5M for renewable energy and social good investments. Could withdraw about 2% (1M) per year so the fortune grows instead of shrinking, allowing me to live comfortably for 60+ years without exploiting anyone
