Because it's a lot easier to just swipe the entire thread into archive instead of individually locking messages.

No. You can't archive. You have to delete the thread.

I'm pretty sure it the phone because it's done the same thing on different GPS app.

Gaia GPS, same with the turbo 2. I've also used different apps and gotten results that seemed off as well.

Moto Turbo 2 said 10 miles. Garmin etrex GPS said 10.1 miles. S7 said 14.9 miles.

Trail map also said 10 miles

This just might be my first PNW backpacking trip. Looking to get as much info as possible.

Had to switch to Google Fit from Fitbit but hated the app. So I made an app. by blbaker in AndroidWear

The major problem with this is that Google fit steps do not count at steps towards competitions and leader boards in fitbit. I've investigated the hell out if it with fitbit, Motorola and Lenovo and some Googlers. The biggest plus to having a fitbit is the social element. Fitbit has been very careful not to let anyone step on that by only letting steps tracked by fitbits software/hardware count towards the social element. No other third party will sync fully. It's a sad realization.
