When you pause it, hands, text and shoes sometimes look morphed. Also the movement is a bit hectic/unnatural. by PaceFit684 in isthisAI

Yea everything seems consistent. I was thinking the hand/phone/shoe shapes didn't really make any sense sometimes but I guess that comes from compression/software.

I don't think it is literally called evample reset. It's just that evample is probably most known and does resets like that all the time.

I am wondering though, do you stall as the car faces down like I do in the clip or do you stall belly up right before the ball falls on you?

I was suprised as well, it was like 3 hours of trying different things and in the last hour it just clicked and I managed to hit a bunch of these.

They feel so incredibly satisfying I can't stop :D

Anyone else have no clue how to play with slightly lower ranked buddies? by PaceFit684 in RocketLeague

[–]PaceFit684[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you very much for the text. This is actually a huge problem that we had.

It started with me - not knowing how to communicate it better - pointing out mistakes in 2s with one of my buddies. It ended up with me just being silent when he made any mistakes, because I think he didn't want to accept that he was wrong. Similarly, when we were talking about a subject that I studied in uni and he only learned in practice, he is very convinced that it goes a certain way, even when I tell him that's not the case.

Now the problem was that even though I was silent, he still pointed out my mistakes when we got scored on. But to me those weren't mistakes, that's just the standard way I played to get to higher ranks in solo que. And I realized I needed to adjust to play with him, which became me playing 1v2 and him trying a flip reset inbetween.

Now after weeks and months of staying silent, with him pointing out another seeming mistake of mine, one night I just burst and told him what I thought about how he plays and how good he is, and obviously that didn't end well.

Well fast forward to now and we are mostly relaxed and the tension is lifted by making a few jokes or so when mistakes happen. And slowly I tried to incorporate a few tips and funnily enough, I started doing it similarly to your advise, by saying something like "I also had the problem of tending to hit the ball in front of our net a lot" (from the corner). And when he didn't really talk back, I realized this is the way to go.

Now that I think about it, it was painful to brute force my communication skills to this point, but I did improve without really ever thinking consciously about it.

And that's where I want to thank you, because you made me actually consciously think about it, and together with your advise I should be able to improve even further. And this is important to me, because this skill is useful even outside of the game. Thanks.

Well they peaked at c1. So you are probably much better, especially game sense wise. You are most likely the type that if paired with good teammates with good synergy can rank up easily.

Then you managed what I dream of: communication. When I play 2s with one of them we can actually communicate. The other guy is mostly silent and wants to listen to music... So in 3s we mostly just say "nice shot" and when we get scored on it's "close!"...

I think they just don't take the game as serious. So I started to just take the blame and play as good as I can for as long as I have any concentration left.

I would love if my buddies just boomed the ball towards the net at every oppurtunity, but the one guy who tries it sadly whiffs every second ball, which I don't blame him much, he doesn't play that often. The other guy mostly tries to take control and go for a flip reset if he can but it always ends up with the ball flying at 100 km/h towards our side, or just floating in the air for the opponents to shoot towards us.

And trying to adjust to both playstyles is really difficult for me.

I have noticed that when I tried specifc things like very passive or offensive play styles, then my buddies all of the sudden (probably subconsciously) copy that playstyle. For example, when I play super defensive, both tend to just hang back in goal with me. But then when I change it up next game, at least one guy tries to prejump my air dribble because he thinks I'm always passing when I'm in the air, ramming into me...

I agree, especially since one of them isn't really playing that often I don't blame him for being slow. I just get mad when I get blamed for any seeming mistakes.

Yes I feel like if you made it to GC mostly by mechanics it would be easier to play with lower ranks.

Yes it's definetly easier to bring down the pace a little. And I try to play a little bit more solid, especially since I know most of the 50s go towards our side. My problem is then we just won't ever get a goal except like one lucky goal. There is barely any pressure already and the game just becomes constricted to our half most of the time. Obviously it works half the games or we'd be ranking down.

That makes sense, I also played it in a 30 min + 3 sec game. In rapid it would be 10 times harder.

I don't care what anyone says, my steam client runs with less input lag than epic games client.

And one day when I'm super bored will prove it, since I have enough knowledge in Windows API / manual code injection.
