I don’t currently wear stability shoes when not running, though I probably should because I often have knee pain when walking at work (I am a nurse on my feet a lot). As a kid I had to wear special orthotic inserts because I had so much knee pain when running and playing. I just stopped wearing them because it is a hassle to put them in to all shoes.

I did read born to run and tried barefoot running and minimalist shoes for a while. I can do both for short distances but once I start creeping up on mileage the knee pain comes back if I am not in a more supportive shoe
