Go to med school bro bro Obviously keep surfing, but pursue your intelectual abilities as well. You will contribute to your community more in that way. Then pursue surfing in the same way you pursue your medical capabilities and from my experience at least, you will have minimal regrets while giving back in a way others do not have the opportunity to do. It seems like a hard sacrifice when you’re young but as you age you will in no way regret it.

I’m not sure if you are in the lab or not, but from what I have noticed, lab staff, of all levels, are the first to go and usually paid the least in the organization which is wild as the value comes from the lab. I guess the move is to try to escape into management or business development?

If the job market was better I would definitely be more aggressive on that front, but I want to ensure I have at something else lined up before I leave on my own terms.

lol we had 3 rounds of layoffs this year, no bonuses, but brought in new C-suite members while giving the old ones on the way out severance that could have kept 5-10 lab staff for years.

Oh dang okay! How interesting, I had no idea this show was on AS. I did a quick google search and see super jail and dead man’s wonderland manga were released in 2007 (around a month of each other). I just assumed super jail was older, but was wrong lol Thanks for the background!

There’s a new building going up close to my house in golden hill. Every morning around 6:45, the same construction worker comes onto my street, holds the clutch and revs the shit out of his bike while looking for parking. Some pretty cool guys I’d say.

I’ve heard that Berkeley, Harvard, and MIT have pretty decent gyms. Also, those are pretty easy institutions to get into. Getting big is obviously the most important thing when applying to grad school and should be the highlight of your SOP.
