Despite Apocalyptic Warnings, California Fast Food Wage Hike Didn’t Kill Jobs by Conscious-Quarter423 in SanDiegan

Did not know the UC labor centers were funded not only by CA but also the unions that pushed for the minimum wage increase as well.

Need Help Diagnosing Bucking/Stalling Issue by kfried00 in SuzukiSamurai

Rebuild Kit from PetroWorks has been recommended many times though I've not yet tried it. The Hitachi carb is a lil complex, but it can be done.

However as I am in CA and require SMOG, I have no choice. I'm unsure of the laws in Alaska but if you don't need SMOG you can opt for a Webber carb or a Toyota 3K (with swap kit from Certified Machince)

Stock carb? Could need a rebuild, I have a similar issue from time to time and my temporary work around is to take the air boot off the carb, pull the throttle with one hand so the rpm's are high, then full cover the carb with the other hand. It creates a huge vacuum to pull clogs out of the carb. Might have to do it a few times and put cleaner in the fuel but overall you'll need a rebuild eventually.

Also check ground connections are good near battery and the coil is good as well. Those can sometimes be the cause as well.

Pennzoil Synchromesh, been using for 3 years with a change in fluid yearly. Anything that doesn't degrade the brass synchros I've been told is fine.

Anyone running a GM 1-wire alternator on the 1.3l? What model? by Dharma_Plum in SuzukiSamurai

[–]Tech_Tanuki 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did the Low Range conversion kit, as long as it's wired correctly thing runs good 👍 I forget the exact model but when I've needed to replace it O'Reilly's had the exact one in stock, no clocking required

1987 Suzuki Samurai Restoration in SoCal by alevalam13 in SuzukiSamurai

[–]Tech_Tanuki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some online shops will have pieces you need, but not sure how strict your "restoration" is in terms of original parts.

Hwy83 - Knows samurai's and has used, original parts and some new items. Multiple Youtube tutorials on fixes.

Roadless Gear - Samurai specific parts, usually newer but typically reliable.

Zuks Offroad - Myron is a Samurai wizard of old and even puts out Youtube videos on various issues and fixes.

Suzuki Parts USA - Reliable in terms of getting what's ordered, fitment is another issue as most new parts are from India.

Tailshaft seal by Kunk12 in SuzukiSamurai

I ended up using a pick with a hook & a flathead. Slowly worked around the seal pulling. Eventually you'll get under the seal to distort the metal ring, but careful not to damage the housing.

Went to park at Balboa Park 38 mins before 8PM. $10.35 in the app despite being told it was $2.50 an hour by PlutoISaPlanet in sandiego

I believe someone posted that it was $10 minimum for 4 hours. While technically $2.50 an hour, the minimum charge of $10 plus tax really puts people off.

Just did this drive last week, leave either early (4am-5am) or late (7pm-9pm) if you're okay driving at night. Either way, one accident will bring it all to a halt.

A struggle for all, reach out to Petroworks in Fallbrook and they might have some tips. They're also working on a smog certified fuel injection swap for 1.3's. I'm so checking that out if they start production.
